Western Japan’s Biggest Manga/Anime Event Holds Crowdfunding Campaign – Interest

Kyoto International Manga and Animation Expo (Kyomaf) announced on Thursday that it will conduct crowdfunding activities from July 10 to September 30. The organizers aim to raise 4 million yen (about $28,000) for Kyomaf’s continued growth and support young creators. The theme of the crowdfunding campaign is “Supporting young creators who will shape the future of Kyoto.”

Kyomaf announced 35,000 yen, 30,000 yen and 3,000 yen (about $243, $209 and $21). Each commitment layer has a crowdfunding postcard, clear folders, images shared on social media, and an email thank you. Committers in grade 3,000 will also get smartphone wallpapers. The promise of 30,000 yen will also be awarded the special ambassador’s memorial signature committee Nobuhiko Okamoto and Manaka IwamiKyomaf Ticket, a special ambassador version of smartphone wallpaper, whose name is published on the official website, and a crowdfunded acrylic keychain. The 35,000-year level features tickets to attend the expo ending stage event, farewell greetings from special ambassador, Kyomaf Ticket, Special Ambassador version of smartphone wallpaper, their names published on the official website and crowdfunding overraised acrylic keychain.
Kyomaf plans other commitment layers. As of press time, no list of committed amounts and full investor returns has been announced. However, the plan’s rewards include:
Memorial to the signed board and thank you for your news from Okamoto and Iwami
Memorial Polaroid photo with thank you letters from Okamoto and Iwami
Ambassador’s farewell greetings
Enter the prospect area for the opening ceremony
Ambassador’s commemorative group photos
Traditional Kyoto handicrafts produced by the ambassador
Additional Kyomaf tickets
Tsukasa Kyono (Public Relations Mascot of Kyoto City) or Moe Uzumasa (Kyoto Municipal BureauSubway and city bus mascots) products
Support on the same day (originally scheduled to be held at Kyomaf’s main venue)
Kyomaf 2025 will be held from September 20 to 21 at the Miyak Mess/Rohm Theater and the Kyoto International Manga Museum in Kyoto, Japan. Tickets will be available for sale in mid-July.
