On October 22, the Korean Cartoonists Association and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the five winning works of the 2025 “Korea Cartoon Today” Awards. The winning entry is Courtyard for two people, Rhythm and Baseball, A warrior’s long road, incredible cinemaand On the way to see my mother.
among them, incredible cinema is recognized in the print comics category, while the remaining four are web comics.
Shin Il-sook, chairman of the association, pointed out that the winning works “have once again proved the diversity and excellence of Korean online comics, demonstrating the creativity and potential of Korean comics as a future growth engine.”
The Korea Comic Today Award was first established in 1999 and is one of the three major comics awards in South Korea alongside the Bucheon Award. comics Awards and Korean Content Awards. Each winner will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award and a cash prize of 7 million won (approximately US$5,000).
The awards ceremony will be held on November 3 during the annual Comics Day celebrations.
