Webtoon Recently, its popular daily pass feature has quietly stopped. Readers have recently noticed that the plots (chapters) now available through the Daily Pass now require coins or sometimes ads to be viewed to unlock. Episodes of the series that were previously available through the Daily Pass are now three coins per piece.
The Daily Pass feature was launched in 2020 and allows users to unlock an episode from the full series every day for 14 days of access. The feature has expanded to some ongoing titles in 2022. This feature is widely used in the sample series without spending coins.
Advertising passes are still used in certain series, but episodes that are unlocked in this way three days later. The Quick Pass continues to provide early access to new chapters without expiration, but requires coins to unlock.
Annexts out Webtoon Entertainment to ask why the Daily Pass feature is removed and receive a reply with the same message as the “notify user” that users in the app can access:

We are expanding new ways to access the entire series of plots. Now, readers have two ways to enjoy their favorite game beyond fast passes: watch ads to unlock the selection plot for free, or use coins to unlock the entire series at once.
