Welcome inside the halls of Kousei Academy, the first school to cross-realistic, virtual reality networks called “Johari” that can be used for everything from finding basic information to purchasing to being a social network and messaging app. The app has led to a significant increase in users’ desire for peers and attention, and soon a city legend begins to circulate, and if these desires become too powerful, users disappear into otherworldly “glitters.” Worse, the monsters that are said to live in “glimps” can replace users in the real world, making everyone unwise.
The protagonist soon discovers that the city legend is very real, and some students have been replaced by monsters, forcing them to stand up. As a member of Student Support Services (SSS), a guild dedicated to solving the troubles of the Academy, players must guide their friends, strengthen bonds, and protect the school from doom. But, leading to its own challenges in these relationships – being too close to multiple people can have unexpected consequences.
The game has a “triad statistics” system that shapes the progress of characters based on player choices. Six attributes are assigned between triad features of light and darkness, which affect dialogue and combat skills. Statistics for the light triad include morality, sympathy and altruism, while the dark triad is Machiavelliism, psychosis and narcissism.
