Eisner-nominated film tells the story of a boy who meets a girl in a sea of corpses

webcomic horizonWeb comic company Ultra Media announced on November 14 that “Yellow Kid” created by Ji-hoon Jeong (pen name JH) won the “Yellow Kid” “Book of the Year” award at the Lucca Comics and Game Festival in Italy.
The Lucca Comics and Games Show is one of Europe’s largest comics and games events, held annually since 1966.
horizonZheng’s early work – also due to boxer – follows a boy and girl as they navigate a war-torn world. The series, which explores themes of war, humanity and faith, was previously nominated for Best International Material – Asia Edition at the 2024 Eisner Awards.
Zheng said he was honored that the story could resonate with readers around the world “beyond the barriers of culture, language and time.”

An apocalyptic event wipes out much of the population. A little boy meets a girl in a sea of corpses. United by their shared trauma, they move on, hoping to find a safe haven. But is there a safe haven in a world dehumanized?
The webcomic was originally serialized on Comica in 2016 and the English version is available at webcomic. Ize Publishing House release The series is available in print in English.
