Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto Comic Review – Review

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto is a mashup that’s dynamic and fun while you’re using it. I have to admit that I was very skeptical about the publication of this book. Of course, of course, it has a lot of advantages on the front end. I know I’m theoretically in the crosshairs of a piece like this: I like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I have just recently completed this since before the fall of the Berlin Wall Naruto Comics as of a few weeks ago. The two seemed like a natural fit, as they’re both about a team of brightly colored ninjas who go on an action-adventure spree with goofy comedies and strange villains. In theory, it should be easy for someone like me to accept.
But I think my reservations are well-founded. On the one hand, intellectual property mashups have become so commonplace in the modern media landscape that it’s hard to get too excited. Incredible crossover is about to be possible: Li Chun and Peter Griffin can hit the grid while killing Kylo Ren fortniteCloud and Minecraft Steve can have an epic duel final destination No items, etc. It’s easy to be cynical about crossover media, dismissing it as an empty cash grab that does little to benefit fans of either party other than “Oh my God, I can’t believe they did that!”
That surprised me Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto It’s actually a serious and interesting attempt at a crossover story. Tell it here Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Coming from the Big Apple, which happens to be another village Narutoworld. it was set earlier Narutoa typical 7 days pre-time jump team, the kids are still learning the ropes. April’s meeting with Tsunade attracted attention from all parties, causing a conflict between the Turtles and Team 7. While they initially fight each other, they realize they need to join forces to stop Shredder and the Foot Clan, as they often have to do.
My initial hesitation about this premise was largely unfounded. Naruto It’s certainly a world full of strange details and hidden corners. It’s not so ridiculous to have another village around with a slightly higher base tech level – we see a lot of signs of modern technology in it. Narutoenvironmental details. The mutagenic ooze is consistent with many of the strange experiments the ninjas have conducted over the years, and often summons monsters, companions, and more. For the Turtles, appearing in a different dimension is basically just another Tuesday for them. They lack some of the more fantastical abilities that many characters don’t have. Naruto Yes, but that doesn’t stop them from engaging in combat. Considering their weapons, high level of martial arts training, and enhanced strength/speed/durability due to the ooze, they’re basically just skilled taijutsu users with enhanced physiques.
All of this fits perfectly into the fast-paced adventures of Team 7 and the Turtles. Their different personalities and skills blend perfectly with each other. There are some exciting fights between them, solid banter, and a great action scene when they join forces at the end. Not to mention, the four turtles and four members of Team Seven make it easy for them to square off when fighting and become partners when working together. Of course, there are also great moments along the way, like the brothers introducing pizza to Team 7.
The creative team of writer Caleb Goellner, artists Hendry Prasetya and Raul Angulo fit perfectly in this book. Gollner knows these characters well and gives them enough time in the spotlight, which is satisfying, which is nice considering many crossovers arguably leave a lot of potential interactions open. Prasetya’s take on sea turtles and sea turtles Naruto The cast is great, with crisp lines, engaging poses, and great action scenes. Raul Angulo’s colors perfectly blend the deep, dark environments with the bright pops of costumes on the heroes. this Naruto Half the cast looks identical and fits perfectly, while the Turtles have slightly tweaked their designs to incorporate more tactically cool ninja elements to fit in with the world. It does create a strange situation, although I think Naruto The characters look great and I ended up preferring the turtle designs as they are slightly different from the standard.
The only real negative I noticed was mainly due to the length. Here are four questions that are long enough for you to have fun, but not so long that you go too crazy. By the time it starts, it’s basically over, leaving not much room for exploration. On top of that, there’s a lot of page time devoted to the typical crossover tropes you’d expect: we get the first fight between heroes who are suspicious of each other, then they start talking and team up to fight a real enemy, we get a new version of the Turtles’ origin story to explain how they fit into the world, that sort of thing. You can probably guess the plot before you read it, and you’ll be mostly correct. I don’t think this is necessarily a bad thing – these tropes work and are often used for good reason. I also thought “it was nice and sincere, but I wish there was more to enjoy/explore”, which is pretty good as far as negatives go.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto is a fun and fulfilling comic that avoids the cynical nature of most crossover media and has a real good time with two established franchises. It’s energetic and enjoyable, even if it’s a bit over the top and a bit short at times.
