If there is no doubt about “The Dark Horse Winner of Tokyo Game Show 2025”, it is Anata. From the crowd surrounding the stalls, hopefully entering a demo line that is only open for a few seconds per hour to backpack swag bags for the girl with rabbit Taffy, it is impossible not to know the game.
If you encounter Anata Online, you probably know it’s “Anime Game” Grand Theft Auto Meet Marvel’s Spider-Man. “After spending time on the first hand-action show, I report here that’s it, with some other big names.

The Tokyo game show demo is divided into two different parts. The first one (uploaded to the game official Youtube) Get it from the game’s story mode. It starts with a fight, allowing you to adapt to the game’s battle. This centers on two buttons – one attacks and one blocks/counter. For anyone who has played Batman Arkham and Marvel Spider-Man The game, the combat mechanics will be familiar immediately. You can also pick up and use the object as a weapon, or just throw it to the enemy. There are also many contextual actions of shocked enemies using weapons or environments in cruel ways (activated with the click of the thumb key).
The rest of the story mode is half the presentation unknown– Style car chases you in the passenger seat, shooting chase vehicles. Once, you end up in the driver’s seat and have to harass you while driving a crowded street.
In this section, I noticed two strange things. First of all, the game’s AIM assists are very high. Just targeting the general direction of the enemy will make your sight kill them quickly. Even though I aimed at the tire, my marking often jumped to the car’s window and the enemy hung up it. Then, when behind the steering wheel, I noticed that my control wasn’t as much as it seemed. There is an element of an automatic drive designed to keep me moving along prescribed paths in the city streets to prevent me from crashing, jamming or wrong turns.
The final part of the story mode is a series of quick activities in the scene Spider-Man Game, easy to hit. All in all, it’s a nice action movie, but what really excites me is the second half of the demo, which is the game’s freestyle ROAM mode.

With only 4 minutes left, I played the lead role for the first time and tested his network effect. If you play PlayStation Spider-Man Game, you know exactly what will happen here. That said, in fact, it lacks some polish – it feels stiffer and responds quickly – but overall it is perfectly usable.
I then switched to Taffy and was considered calling her on the phone. The result is a cute cutscene of her secret slack, which is said to work hard at work. While I probably should have just jumped out of her window into the city, I explored her apartment and – just wanted to see if it could do it – trying to ride the elevator. To my surprise, it worked!
Once on the street, I found that Taffy didn’t have to play online, but moved by turning her weapon (the hammer). Then I drove to the enemy who could find her battles recently. Like the protagonist, Tafe’s basic battle revolves around the same two buttons (an attack and a stop/counter), although now throwing the bullet into the mix, Dodge Rolls becomes important. I beat a guy with a crowbar and threw it to the last enemy, smashed him to death with my giant hammer and beat him and felt really cool after doing so.
In the last few seconds, I tried to switch to the third playable character, Richie, but only saw her switching cutscene before I ran out of time.
Finally, I and Anata– Although I wish I wasn’t forced to play Story Mode, I could have more time to explore the world and play with all the characters. My overall impression is that this is a game that stands on the shoulders of giants. It requires almost all the basic game components in other games, and while it doesn’t feel as delicate or refined as they are, it’s still very playable and fun. This is easy to get into the show and still exists after the performance.
