Pass The Monster Meat Milady is Cooking Up a Delicious Anime Confection

Cartoons about food are a sure way to make a hungry feeling to get juicy details about their creations. Of course, the first ten minutes By Monster Meat, Miladi! The boiling of food once filled with fantasy romance and weirdness was influenced by the recipes of bizarro emeril Lagasse, just like the classic fairy tales. To satisfy our appetite, I sat down By Monster Meat, Miladi! Comic Creator Chika Mizube Dubbed with Melphiera Food Moses Get the internal spoon.

What are the unique challenges of adapting light novels to comics?

Chika Mizube: It may be a little different, but the part that I feel needs to be pondered is taking the parts explained in the monologue in the original Light Novel and breaking them down into easier reading in a way that suits the age group of comic readers.

Creativity is at the heart of cooking. How does this series capture this idea and use it?

Mizube:The concept of eating monster meat is surreal, so [while creating the manga] I use my imagination and mention existing dishes to make things look like real dishes.

What is the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten? Is there something you will never eat?

Mizube: Actually, I’m not adventurous when it comes to weird dishes, so I won’t try any exceptions. But yesterday, although it wasn’t a weird food or anything, it was my first time having a kebab and I’d love to eat it again.

Food Moses: The weirdest thing I’ve ever eaten is the roasted frog. And I think the restaurant is not doing a good job of preparing it because the frog is very greasy. I won’t eat it anymore.

How do you describe the relationship between two main characters? How does it have to do with their food activities?

Mizube: Actually, when I adapted the story into a comic, I emphasized more about romance. However, in my opinion, I don’t think they like romantic couples very much, but rather they prefer cooking partners. When I portray them cooking together, it’s somewhere between wandering around and simply playing together – I hope it feels like an image of a funny companion, sharing the same experience.

How did you prepare for Melphiera’s role?

Nakamura: I applied for Melphiera in the audition and, in fact, she was the role I was causing. This is for three reasons: 1) She loves to eat, 2) She loves to cook, 3) She loves to study what she likes and puts some effort into it. In this sense, she is very close to me. I think I have made a lot of preparations. I just poured my true feelings and emotions into it.

How did you capture Melphiera’s personality in a vocal show?

Nakamura: As you can see, Mephi ate monster meat. I won’t give spoilers here, but I’ll explain why she eats monster meat later in the story. From this background, I can understand that she is a very neat, organized and determined person. At the same time, she has all the aspects of an otaku, like someone obsessed with what she likes to do. So I try to maintain a good balance between being an organized person and being an otaku.

Many in the story discover Melphiera’s love for “weird” food and her knowledge of how to prepare. Do you think the attitude of preparing your own food (which may include slaughter) continues into the real world? why is that?

Mizube: I love cooking and even though I haven’t learned to slaughter meat or clean fish properly, I want to give it a try in the future.

Are you particularly proud or like any monster design?

Mizube: Royal sentiment. This monster is passed to Melfira in a near death state, but its appearance makes people feel a sense of pity or sympathy, so I think it’s the charm of that monster.

Are the dishes that Melphiera eats particularly delicious?

Nakamura: As Mizube-sensei said, it is royal sentiment. Anime explains the process of how it brings into the position of Melphiera in anime. So, while playing this role, I was thinking about the most delicious meat I’ve ever eaten.

How do you evaluate your cooking ability? Do you have a professional because you are famous for your friends or family?

Nakamura: My cooking level is hard to do roughly. But if I give me a number up to 100, I’ll give my cooking a 70. One dish I made for my family was curry and other spices. I just searched for things in the house and thought about how to combine these ingredients.

In later comics, Melphiera adopts monsters. Did this blur the line between her love for monster meat and her desire to own a pet? What does it say about her growth as a character?

Mizube: Melphiera loves to eat everything. However, the country prohibits people from eating Tenro, the monster she uses as a pet. That’s the only reason she made Tenro a pet.

Do you think Melphiera is practicing ecological sustainability? Is there any way she can convince others?

Mizube: Yes, I think so.
