Once Upon a Witch’s Death Anime Series Review – Review

exist Hayao MiyazakiKiki’s delivery servicethe magnificent title witch soon turned thirteen, leaving her home to make a living in a distant town. However, Kiki is compared to Meg Raspberry The death of a witch. On her 17th birthday, Meg’s Guardian officials’ parents were a brilliant and powerful matriarch, rich in Faust’s name, who brought the girl into her study. Between a sip of tea, Faust calmly declared that Meg would die in a magical curse for a year.

As Meg pointed out, this is the worst birthday ever. At this point, I have to give up on her dilemma no Resolved at the end of the season, and it is not clear whether we have resolved it in anime form – no confirmed continuation as of this writing. Yuandeng Novel (authored by of) is being translated into English, as is the comic version, but the anime’s ending on the cliffs should be warned, at least so far.

Fundamentally, Meg’s challenge is comparable to Kiki’s challenge: finding a way of life without relying on those who protect and raise her. After all, technically, Meg’s situation is not without hope. Faust explained that Meg had a way to defeat the curse, although it seemed ridiculous. If Meg can collect a thousand tears of joy from the people she meets next year, she can create “seeds of life” and avoid deadly deadlines. The task seemed to go beyond a girl who was reluctant to be serious or loyal – Meg laughed at her friends and the animals that were “familiar” in magic. But if she can surpass that, then it’s time.

Like its heroine The death of a witch At first I didn’t seem to take myself very seriously. Although Meg is in trouble, this tone is positive joy and optimism. The girl may occasionally mourn her doom, but she is easily distracted by friends, food or (most admirable). In the first episode, she meets a father and his young daughter who are trying to deal with their recent bereavement. From a series of sharp observations, Meg can find her to help them, thus achieving the witch’s beautiful feat in the cemetery, which shocks herself – “Did I really do it all?” When she left, it was two fresh tears shed in a bottle, and her survival seemed more reasonable.

It’s a great mini story that touches and cathartic, even if we only know about the characters for a few scenes. (The little girl got the heartbreaking thread and asked Meg: “Don’t I have to hold it anymore?”) It’s located not far from Fantasy England The bride of the ancient Magus. This handsome Tudor timber house suggests somewhere like Stratford, although the town has a more fantastic Lapis lazuli name. Maybe it’s using koriko Kiki’s delivery service.

The show’s main asset is Meg’s own energy. Making a craziest voice in Japanese Yoshino Aoyamathe “bocchi” Bocchi Rock!Meg is a societal, interesting natural force with little embarrassment or filtering. Almost all of her friends (both seniors) are women, and in many cases they just want to control Meg. There was something special about her talking to them, as if she was a creepy old man begging them to marry her, belonging to her, etc.

This is not a height of wit, and some viewers may see it as a mock sign in the performance. Such a Schtick is certainly not enough to carry the series. After getting to the first episode, the participation in the next few sections was reduced as the show lowered the “Bland Life” fare, which made the “Three Episodes” test fail. The most shocking development made Meg realize that deep down she was almost giving up and quit her job and die. The show may do a lot about this, but there is nothing interesting about the topic. Call Chiki Miyazaki’s films are once again more eloquent about losing motivation and hope without giving its protagonist a death sentence.

but The death of a witch Grow in you. I turned around in episode 5 and saw Meg spread joy to her town against the backdrop of explosive fireworks, and then had trouble when she ran away from the giant owl. From there, these plots become more interesting and involved – when Meg becomes too full, Meg is forbidden from magic and has to relearn what it means to help others. This episode is fun in some places, but after Meg endured a hard climb, physical and mental climb, it climaxed with a thrust.

From there, the stakes are higher and Meg faces a real dangerous situation. She may only have a year, but if she was careless, she might not even be that far away. A girl turns into a toothed Lovecraft monster. Later, the show was not y about showing what happened to animals in medical research. The flashback image of the last episode and the flashback image of a destroyed city feel uncomfortable with the current news.

There is another plot when Meg realizes that a normal family in her town covers up a demonic secret involving human sacrifice. Given that the series is in a modern world with a wide reality, the story may be upsetting to older people to remember the “Satanic Panic” of the 1980s, the Qanon plot at that time – although these panics never seem to spread to Japan.

There is also an arc plot sensation, with more world building, more clues to why Meg was cursed and more dangers (including a crisis that resonates clearly with Japanese audiences). The final episode reveals more backstory, but far from that, leaving behind many Meg’s worlds, whether it’s animated or not.

There are no other major characters, especially the original characters, but they make nice foil for the passionate Meg. There is Sophie, a red-eyed rei-type with a lonely past, Meg is determined to smile. Inori is a majestic teacher whose authority is weakened by unfortunate hygiene problems; and, in addition, there is a nasty child, Meg encounters a scene at a magic event that will inevitably look more like her. Then there is the figure of the mother, Meg is the natural authority Faust, whose severity is flashing. She expresses it in Japanese Yoshiko Sakakibaraone of the great commanders of anime for decades, Kushana Nausicaä and shinobu It’s labor right now.

EMT squareThe speeches are not as inspired by the same studio’s 2024 series. Training to the end of the world. However, the British environment was very attractive until the woods of Faust and Meg were solid. Later, we all enjoyed a visit to Venice, except for the name, despite the disappointing illustration of the one episode that is supposedly magical. From the widow overcame his feelings in the first part, to the Meg plane in the fireworks in the fifth part, to the final hug in the closing ceremony, there are also strong personal moments, from the genetic expression of the first part to the overcame his feelings to Meg’s flight.
