The story tells the story of Bomhee, who runs a small art studio, and his encounter with Chuae, an old woman who comes to have her portrait painted. Their encounter launches a touching exploration of life, memory and relationships. The webcomic has been praised for its emotional depth and relatability, earning a reputation as one of the most touching “lifestyle webcomics.”
According to production company Soo Company, the stage adaptation will depict universal themes across generations – from the lives of older adults facing the end of their lives, to middle-aged daughters with estranged parents, and teenagers struggling to understand their stepmother.
Veteran actors Kim Young-ok, Kim Young-lim and Son Sook will play the role of the energetic grandmother Chun-ae. Ha Hee Ra, Lee Il Hwa and Shin Eun Jung will play Bomhee, an art studio owner who rediscovers his long-forgotten dream.
