Nioh 3 Hands-On: Getting Stomped into the Ground for 10 Minutes Straight – Tokyo Game Show 2025

I’m no stranger to soul-like games. Besides the title of the summary, I played a lot, including Nioh 3– It’s original Nioh and The first berserker: Kazan. because of this, Nioh 3 Get familiar with it immediately.

In Tokyo Game Show 2025 demo, the focus is on combat, besides fighting. You fight a total of six enemies and one boss. Two of them are normal warriors. One is a cavalry warrior (never reborn after the first kill), two are Oni, one is a feast on the corpse, and the other comes out of the fog. Finally, you can also summon a player ghost. Basically, it’s a quick showcase of different types of enemies in the game and how to fight their enemies, and using the demo’s default equipment, which isn’t a challenge.

However, these enemies do allow you to play with the game’s new mechanics, thus switching characters. On the fly, you can switch between a samurai character wielding a sword and a ninja wielding a double dagger. In practice, I prefer the samurai’s familiar powers over the speed of the ninja, but appreciate the choice of changing between the two (especially the mid-term). Of course, when it comes to it, the ordinary enemy is nothing more than the main point of the demo: the boss.

The owner of this demonstration is a clumsy man who haunts an old temple. Although I had about 10 minutes to fight him after messing up with ninjas and ordinary enemies, I couldn’t show it clearly – although I felt like I could be relaxed after another 10 minutes.

Basically, this boss is one of those enemies, and while it’s not particularly difficult in a vacuum, it takes time to fail. The obstacle you encounter is that most of his combos contain at least one roll of attacks – the enemy paused long enough that if you dodge as expected, you will still be hit by an attack (and most likely later). The only thing you can do is simply remember the attack mode. However, since there are only about five of them, and since the Save Point Shrine is right next to the boss’s room, it feels unfair.

all in all Nioh 3 Feels like Nioh. So while it might say that, if you like other games in the series, you might also like this one.

Nioh 3 The settings will be in PlayStation 5 and PC, on February 6, 2026.
