Hino explained that since the cancer has not spread, he will undergo surgery to remove the cancer early next year. For the rest of the year, he is receiving intravenous chemotherapy and oral medications to shrink the cancer and stop its growth.
Hino added in the post, “This is the end result of a man who drinks and smokes. I take full responsibility. I had no choice but to accept this fate. I am grateful to be alive to this age.”
Hino later posted on Thursday thanking everyone who encouraged him, offered support and prayers after his first post, adding that he would use everyone’s feelings to keep fighting. “I have a wonderful wife, kind children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great friends. I do live a happy life,” he said.
