Episode 25 – Witch Watch

We’re at the end of this season Witch watch It seems like I’m underestimating again how much comedy it’s left in the tank. Even if we won’t see the theme of returning to Warlock or Nico’s prophecy, I at least thought last week’s Stinger would provide enough bets to make this episode more dramatic than gag. There was a little nervous, but as we waited for the second season, this finale was mostly just here to provide more laughs. While this makes the result less dramatic than I hoped, it at least provides some good jokes in the meantime.

As the gang prepares for their school festival, Nico’s classmates decide to build a haunted cafe in their classroom and use Nico’s magic to make it more realistic. Meanwhile, Kenzoren and Kego decided to make comedy sketches for the festival, and the plot made most of the humor come out. Kenshuren and Kanshi and Keigo seem to do it for a great comedy duet, but as the world’s biggest picky picky, Morihito couldn’t help but talk about their jokes, knowing how dangerous it is to underestimate this work that incorporates good comedy. At first, when the duo decides to test their day job, nothing is in a way, but once they get the girl’s praise, they start to let it surface and assume they have enough talent to come on stage without a script. This amateur mistake cost them a huge price, just like when they were on stage at the festival, their usual play did not make the audience laugh. We’ve seen his eyes glaze whenever he’s impressed by something, but the visual metaphor consumed by black holes tells more about his poor efforts to save this tragic defeat than ever before, allowing him to build on it. Everything shows that comedy is no joke, no matter how funny you think you are, you should never step on those dark waters without the right level of preparation.

This is basically where the episode peaks, and the rest shifts to the mysterious threat of crime in the festival using Nico’s magic. As a concern, Morihito believes the best action is to simply stop Nico from using her magic at the festival, but others realize how important it is to her for her classmates and don’t want to stop her from growing up, so they decide to best deal with threats. Although this is the main reason why they live together, we don’t have many opportunities to use these boys as actual bodyguards and it’s nice to see them coming together to blend for Nico, even if the actual threats they face aren’t particularly sinister. In the end, Nico was very excited. While I would provide performance for the show point, as it turned out to be a different kid from the last few episodes who complained loudly about Nico’s dislike, this twist didn’t make it any more exciting. Catching his leadership does offer at least some extra animated highlights, but beyond that, Moritho points out how he and others think of Nico, which isn’t a very spectacular season finale.

Even if we didn’t completely shut down Showstopper, I’m still happy with the results of this season. Many Witch watch Work comes from the ability to juggle several genres at once, whether it’s comedy, drama or occasional action, and no matter in any given week’s series, Bibury Animation Studios’ adaptability emerges to achieve its goals. I do wish we could see more Warlock sub-lists this season, but there should be a lot of things when the show finally pays off, and when it does that, I look forward to watching more of this quirky witch and her friends.
