The Phantom of the Opera The musical debuted in London’s West End in 1986 and debuted on Broadway in 1988. The award-winning musical follows Christine Daaé and the mysterious phantoms that live under the Paris Opera House. It is based on the book of the same name Gaston Leroux. Leroux initially serialized stories from 1909-1910. There is a sequel to the musical titled Love never dies In 2010, the West End of Londom.
