and Creative maid Take a break from the middle Almost sold out travel In Japan, anime news network has the opportunity to talk to its owner Miku Kobatoat the 2025 Animation Expo.
Founded in 2013, Creative maid Recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and released its most recent album Epic narrativelast year. The band is now preparing to release a new EP this year, following their latest song “What is Justice?” Tougen Anki. This is afterward Creative maid Create songs for other anime, such as “Preparing to Rock” Locke is the modesty of the lady and “Zen” Zenshuthe former is the band’s performance music sequence.
Known for quirky characters online and on stage, Miku uses a unique speech that mimics the sound of a chi bird, the “po”. In Japanese, the onomatopoe “po” is usually associated with a dove, and she adds a sound at the end of the sentence to play the role of a maid.
During her time with Miku, we asked her to reflect on her with Creative maid How she grew up personally from the experience so far, and what the band expected next. We also learned about the band’s creative process, including how members come together to decide on the album title.

These are some of the biggest changes since your founding in 2013 Creative maid Have you experienced it?
Miku Kobato:PO, please take a look, there have been a lot of changes in PO, but the first big change is the release of the song “Thrill” which puts our style in hard rock like it is now. That was a big turning point because that song reached masters and princesses around the world, Po. The next turning point was writing “One by One” as a band and making its debut from a song Po.
The biggest turning point in recent years is Covid. We had to cancel the tour due to Kuvid, po. We were a live band and our events were centered around the tour, so we had to switch to online shows, PO. During this period, we also learned to write songs independently at home, and even if we were separated, we would share our songs online. We purchased the equipment so that we can record at home, PO. By doing so, our songs become more diverse, po. Even if we are separated, it is very important to be able to create music, if not the biggest discovery, PO. So even if there are negatives about Covid, it is some benefits, which makes it a positive turning point, PO.
By the way, do you think you are a change in a person?
Kobato: Before Covid, I didn’t really record at home, but in that Covid era, I started looking for devices that could be kept at home, PO. Also, I learned to practice myself so that I could learn more details and play with guitar and PO became more technical. I bought more equipment so that I could record guitars at home, PO. I also learned to record my vocals at home. So, in a sense, I was able to do because of Covid, Po.
The song is the song “What is Justice?” released on July 18. Selected as the ending theme of the song Tougen Anki Japanese cartoon. Can you tell us a little bit about this song, what inspired it?

Kobato: this Tougen AnkiThe animation team is close to Creative maid Make the ending song, po. When guitarist Kanami reads the original comic, she feels there are a lot of battle scenes, very cool battlefields, po. Inspired by those battle scenes, she wanted to write a song with an introduction full of powerful improvisation, po. As for the melody, she wants [vocalist] Nowsingers are at an all-time high in every aspect, which is why the melody is very technical. This song is technical in many ways, so I hope everyone will pay attention to this song when listening, po.
Creative maid A new EP will also be released later this year. Can you tell us more about it? What should we expect? What prompted you to create this particular new project?
Kobato: Prior to this EP, we released an album called Epic Narrative, which we call the band’s new chapter Po. Not only did we get more of what we wanted to show, but after that we also made three anime pairing songs in a row, thus meeting new masters and princesses, PO. We want to highlight what we can do in 2025, so with this EP we will focus on PO.
We’ve been doing this for the past 12 years, and in Rock’s field, we’ve done many music genres, PO. What do we want to show Creative maid “Royal Road” in this EP, PO. This will be something full of songs Creative maid Style, band playing various music, po.

Speaking of Epic narrativereleased last year. Can you tell me how the album develops Creative maidThe sound of previous albums?
Kobato: We spent the longest time doing epic narratives, po. The PO was completed for about three and a half years. This is our three and a half years of history, so every song has a story, po. Each song is about our daily life or band activities, and it’s deeper than other albums. We’ve experienced Covid in these three and a half years, returned to the world after Covid, participated in our US tour for the first time in a long time, and so on, and a lot of captured in the album Po. Each member’s values have changed, and of course, our device has changed, so it’s more diverse than previous album POs.
I’m also curious about your album title. If you watch the record, you will find Epic narrative,,,,, The invisible worldand conqueror Sounds powerful. I think it makes sense given the hard rock genre, but how do you decide to name the album? How can I get the process of how you name an album or EP? What is the creative process?
Kobato: We usually decide the title at the end after all the songs are finished. We believe the title should have a visual impact, which will accompany you, PO. Furthermore, the title effectively blends the theme and the album’s image, so we often discuss it, PO. I usually come up with 10 or more ideas, PO. I’ve discussed 10 ideas Now First, narrow them down to about three, po. We present them to members and then decide which one is the best title PO.
Creative maid Over the past few years, there have been many tours around the world. What are your favorite aspects of tours and which cities are particularly memorable to you?
Kobato: The reactions of our Masters and Princess songs vary in every city as you tour the world, even within the U.S. The atmosphere of each place is also different. We all love to experience those different reactions and resonances, po. Also, the most important thing is when we do it Okyuji [what BAND-MAID calls their live performances] In Lollapalooza. It’s a festival, not our solo show, but being able to perform in Lollapalooza is very memorable. The whole town turned into a big event, and it was our first experience of performing on such a huge festival, so it was a kind of honor, po. We performed for an hour at the hottest time of the day, without MC, so we were all breathless. But achieving this allows us to push the limits, po. Because we performed Okyuji, this gives us confidence that we can do it harder Okyujiback.
If there is any country where you haven’t been touring, where would you like to go?
Kobato: I really want to go to many places, po. Visiting all places we have never had means world domination, so we want to explore the world, po. Personally, I would love to go to Australia and PO.
Where did you see it Creative maid In the next five… maybe ten years?
Kobato: We have been working on 12 years, so if you think of a five-year and a decade vision, it will be 15th and 20th anniversary, PO. We also have to remember that this will be our 10th anniversary as the leading record artist Po. We have been thinking about how to make the masters and princess happier, PO. return, Now Hope to host Creative maid The festival for the next five years, po.
Will you be willing to try other music after releasing a new EP that will be released later this year? Or, what is a rock Creative maid Set up?
Kobato: In people’s eyes, Creative maid The song is rock, but we are not limited to one genre. In fact, our goal is Creative maidpo. We want to create a unique type Creative maidso we are not limited to the idea that we have to play rock, po. In the future we might play something that some people are considered not rock in other people’s minds. I don’t know, po. You know, we’re willing Okyuji In Japan, we play all the acoustic songs, so we want to play many different Creative maid Future songs, po.
