Korean animated movies Bad Girl: Running Hani It is scheduled to open nationwide in South Korea on October 7.
The film is based on the original comics of the late Jin-Joo Lee, first in Treasure Island In 1985, the magazine was adapted into a popular TV animation in 1988. To mark the 40th anniversary of its serialization, the new dramatic version updated the environment to modern Seoul and shifted the perspective to Hanni’s former rival, Ae-ri Na, who went from Antagonist to trusted teammates.

The new version of the Sports Story also introduces the “S-Run”, a high-speed urban running sport that uses the city scenery as a racecourse, adding a fresh sense of thrill and competition. The beloved characters from the original series, including Hani, Coach Hong and Chang-Soo, returned while also being a replay of the iconic theme song, which became a cultural touchstone in the 1980s.
Directed by Jung-soo Heo and produced by Playkhan, the film aims to combine nostalgia with vibrant visual storytelling, attracting long-term fans and a new generation of viewers.
