Kodansha It announced last Wednesday that it won a copyright infringement lawsuit against Russian company IQ Art Management LLC on June 24.
In early July 2023, Kodansha I learned that the IQ was held in St. Petersburg, Russia from April 2023 to October 1033. The event features 18 exhibitions, e.g. Attack TitanNo Kodanshaauthorization. Kodansha On July 4, 2024, the lawsuit against IQ filed infringement in the St. Petersburg Arbitration Court and the Arbitration Court in Leningrad Prefecture, Russia.
The court ruled Kodansha On April 7, IQ was ordered to pay damages of 3.75 million rubies (approximately $48,000) and legal fees of 26,000 rubies (approximately $333) to infringe 15 of 18 works and profit from unauthorized activities. Neither party appealed before the final verdict on June 24.
Kodansha It is pointed out that in Japan and internationally, infringement will continue to be strictly targeted, including unauthorized incidents.
