Godzilla’s Monsterpiece Theatre Comic Book Review – Review


Godzilla’s Monster Theater It is a fun and dreamy romp, in a unique environment with familiar faces.

This title has a lot of fun. Tom Scioli wrote and illustrates this, providing a consistent visual sense on these three issues. His writing style is evocative, but certainly not verbose, and his linework and colors place it firmly in the muddy newsstand version of the early 20th century. The size of the team swelled beyond the range mentioned here because I didn’t want to give up the entire game.

In most cases, it all comes together to create an exaggerated and wonderful time. The careful battle phase makes them popular without over-appreciating their welcome, while the characters pull away from one weird place to another. It’s always in sports, never boring, and Jay Gatsby is a protagonist who can take root for him against the weird Godzilla. I can never say what will happen from page to page or panel to panel and I feel compelled to keep reading to find out the ridiculousness that happens next. This is the best pulp comic writing.

But that’s not all successful. The pace of the early days is excellent, but the second half of this story is overwhelmed by the sheer absurdity of what happened. It feels like new concepts and characters are being introduced for my own sake and expanding the breadth of what is happening without any clear rhyme or reason. Again, it is almost impossible to say what happens after the number of weird events is said. Early events are simpler and clearer: Godzilla is about to attack a city, and we must try to prepare weapons or tools to stop him. Oh, no! It fails, let’s try to protect the next city. But, at the end, it felt like it happened because “Wouldn’t it be crazy if this happens?!” or “Wouldn’t it be fun if this person is part of the superman?” After a while, the absurdity becomes mundane and it loses a lot of the impact.

Although these sometimes too much elements, Godzilla’s Monster Theater Stick to landing and provide a unique experience along the way. This is different from anything else Godzilla The stories I see in print or film over the years have always surprised us with new ways of shock and awe.
