Upcoming live action version series Dear X The first four episodes will be released on the Korean streaming platform TVING on November 6 at 6:00 pm (KST).
Dear X is a melodramatic thriller that tells the story of top star Baek Ah-jin (played by Kim Yoo-jung) who achieves success by layering and trampling on her childhood scars. Yoon Joon-seo (played by Kim Young-dae) is Ah-jin’s lifelong protector, safe haven, and fatal weakness.
Kim Do-hoon plays the role of Kim Jae-wu, whose life goals change because of Ah Jin’s words. After years of abuse at the hands of his father, Zai Wu found meaning in Ah Jin, sharing her pain and being willing to be her shadow. His dangerous loyalty contrasts sharply with Jun-seo’s devotion.
At a press conference in Seoul on October 30, director Lee Eung-bok described the drama as “a dark romantic thriller about a devil with an angelic face and two angels trying to protect her,” adding that he “learned a lot from Kim Yoo-jung during the production process.”
Dear X Marks TVING’s first co-production with Global HBO Maxand will be released simultaneously in South Korea and 18 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Currently, a U.S. release date has not been confirmed.
