Episode 11 – To Be Hero X

How will you rate it Episode 11 of
Become a hero x ? Community score: 4.0

One good thing about the arc of this story is that it gives us a brief introduction to the Queen. Before we start watching this week’s episode, we know her mentor, father and goal, who plays the lead role. This episode covers the same period as the entire arc of cyan, and thanks to our familiarity with the setup, story and characters, we are able to dig deeper into some aspects of them than ever before. But before that, let’s talk about the Queen.

The Queen is a child shaped for greatness, and her character is built from the ground to become a top hero. After all, to do something as impossible as overthrowing the world order, you have to be so good that people believe they can do it. But when the queen talks about talking and walking, she means serious fate.

The Queen not only wants to demolish the organization that manages superheroes, she also wants to overturn the entire trust system. To do this, she needs to leverage a completely independent system with only one that fits the bill: fear. From her parents’ characters to her own words, all signs show that she plans to rule X with an iron fist and become an authoritarian dictator in the superhero world, who is both feared by other heroes and trusted by ordinary people. Honestly, if she could use fear and trust at the same time, her original power would not be able to stop it. Of course, this is the assumption that she can control her own fear power without being corrupt like other fear users we have ever seen.

Now, all this is not to say that the queen has had a negative impact on the world so far, it is the opposite. Her bold announcements and constant progress led to the prosperity of superheroes. In fact, not only did she pave the way for Bowa to be the first woman to hold only X titles (Ms. Blazing Fire shared the title with her partner, Mr. Matchstick, before the scandal), but she also inspired a new generation of female heroes like Loli.

Fortunately, the Queen is not only trying to pursue her own goal (and launching it into the air by murdering the people of fear and throwing it to the ground after gravity inevitably kicks back). Although she looks serious, we see that she is far from emotional through her friendship with Johnny and Cyan. She is still human and her first failure will greatly affect her and make her shaky.

Of course, this loss for her is our first introduction to the X (Hero) part of the series. From the beginning, X’s presence was shrouded in the series – in fact, if you count the concept movies of anime from 2022, it’s at the beginning. We know that he had the title of X in Lin Ling’s era and will defend it for the second time.

It can be said that there has been a lot of accumulation when seeing his actions, especially for women who will be second place under him, which is an understatement. But what we get is a fight not even a fight. His fingers literally won the victory, and no queen or anyone else knew what was going on.

But what is even more crazy than X’s victory is that he almost casually becomes the world’s top hero. The rise of X undermines our understanding of the hero world and how the trust system works. He is a non-affiliated hero, somehow with enough trust to get 10th place, but somehow without a name, and his power doesn’t know. How is that possible? This makes him an important part of understanding all the rules of this superhero world. I hope we can see more of him outside of his final plot.

The last thing in this episode is to illustrate to us the structure of a superhero society. There are four major superhero institutions. DOS is run by Micky of Fear Research, representing Johnny, Lucky Cyan, Queen and Bowa. Mighty Glory is run by the immoral Uncle Chessmaster Rock, representing E-Soul and Dragon Boy. Meanwhile, the other two companies are FOMO (originally SNS) twitter Run by Zac) and Treeman, and run by Shang Chao’s father Shand, it represents a good (and probably also Lin Ling).

These companies seem to have their own agendas that go far beyond simple PR. After all, in a world like this, no matter who controls superheroes, whatever it is, can make them a whim or break them – basically the whole of society. However, while everyone is fighting for absolute power, no one can ask for it–not X is sitting alone and disconnected at the highest point. So, the upcoming match is much more than hero fights to see who is the strongest. It’s about which company will effectively control the world.

Random thought:

•While from the Queen’s point of view, while Bowa looks a bit like a flash in the pot, if you do math speed, she has held the top ranking in 4 years, which means she not only won the championship, but also defended once.

•I wonder if I’ll see the Queen’s second battle against X next week.

•I’m glad to see that the official website has added Lin Ling to slot 10.

• Among the remaining heroes we haven’t seen in action yet, the Iron Man Loli is on my list (although Ahu is there too).
