Episode 9 – Turkey!-Time to Strike-

Content warning: suicide.
Excellent plot literally to finished. More specifically: The episode begins with an introduction to different versions, this time singing by our Sengoku Squad (and featuring visuals) – we’ll soon see some instruments going to town. Alternative versions of open themes are always fun, and while I know why not, I hope they are more common.
Last week we left on a very sharp cliff, so this episode was set to “Sink or Swim.” I’m happy to report that while it’s undoubtedly not everyone’s taste, I think it’s a circle. Of course, it’s also easy (arguably) to one of our darkest plots to date. Although Akebi flashbacks are a big part of this, I would say that we have multiple instances of characters on the verge of suicide. Of course, this leads to a bowling game that is ostensibly to determine who died, but is actually teaching everyone how good life is.
If there is no girl talking, “You shouldn’t kill yourself because then you can’t bowl!” The second half of this episode feels like a version of this anime, they never go back in time, but anime about bowling, friendship and teamwork, we sold in the first episode and until the last moment, we sold in the first episode. There are certainly a lot of tone whipping in this anime, but this is definitely the most stark and obvious episode of it. But like other times turkey! It feels like it tends to be that contrast and basks in it rather than shy away from it. And I think this – besides the ridiculousness of all this, it seems to be a big part of the weirdly working of the tone whip turkey!.
Speaking of which, this episode highlights another aspect of my favorite in this show. A lot has happened to modern girls Inu Yasha‘Back to the Sengoku era. And it’s easy turkey! Once it revealed the hand that gave the girl in time, it gave up the bowling show. However, there wasn’t one time – not a bizarre episode – the show once made the audience forget that it was still a bowling anime. We have a plot where one of the characters has to face bloody faces with a dead attitude, but it’s still a bowling anime. Even if you are not so faithful turkey! As a surprising time travel anime, it never gave up on the idea of becoming a bowling anime. Bowling plays a key role in every episode, especially with this event, even if it’s really easy to throw that part of yourself into the gutter. And I just think it’s about not only sticking to it’s neat, but it also continues to keep the story at its core.
This episode feels like the culmination of everything I love about this anime: the great cast, the strong sense of identity, the dark edges, make up everything and of course, bowling in any hard way. As always, I was equally disappointed that the show will end soon, but was also curious how they would tie everything to several episodes. Theoretical Alert: If any other member of Akebi, Sumomo, or Sengoku Squad were able to somehow follow our main girls back to the modern day, they were functionally dead for everyone in their lives. The opening made me realize that any of them (and maybe even all) had a non-zero chance that might somehow find a way to follow our main cast back to modern Japan. I can see this with this story very well.
