Episode 9 – My Hero Academia: Vigilantes

This may be the best episode alert We’ve arrived. In terms of the story, while it initially seems like a fulfilling plot, this episode surprisingly covers a lot of basics. With Koichi’s mom visiting, this creates a great opportunity to reveal and confirm several things. Not only can we hear the actual names of Pop and Knuckleduster, but we can also learn some information about the latter. I’m going to assume that he’s actually right to work for a nonprofit that helps the community, and he’s not only going to prepare all of these things in advance. If it is the latter, it will be very convenient. I want to think this guy has a background in community work because that would tie him and koichi together because it was revealed that Koichi has been doing community work since he was a kid.

Speaking of Little, it’s nice to hear that Koichi is actually a community hero because he’s small and he always has a little bit of heroic motivation. This means that as his mom literally and metaphorically beats him off him, this dynamic is suppressed over time as time goes by. I wish this episode took more time because mom didn’t contribute much to the whole story. For all the reasons this episode covers, it still feels like a missed opportunity. However, I like what we get.

This episode makes Koichi feel truly heroic. So far, the show either left many bigger moments for other characters or seriously downplayed Koichi’s focus capabilities. There is nothing here. In the case where his quirks are most useful, he can show off his skills, he can work with professional heroes in some kind of official capacity, and eventually he can save the girl. This is the plot that feels most like the real one My Hero Academic The plot, from Soundtrack. The animation is great, the hype is there, and the climax feels particularly strong.

This is enough to make me ignore the blatant convenience of the ending of this episode. It has been determined in the main series that people can have multiple quirks at once, or they may be born with quirks, which are combinations or variants of parental quirks. However, this episode only tells us at the last minute that the Pheasant always has an extra quirk, or that his quirk is always capable of flying, which is almost fun so that he can do his rescue in the eleventh hour. I hope something like this is better predicted in the series because it’s everywhere.

It works on the subject and I love KnuckleDuster’s speeches for kids there. At least, it may reappear later. Speaking of later, it seems that next week it is explicitly focused on arthroscopes. Such a plot has long been done. It’s been a while since an episode of the show made me feel really excited.
