Wow, that’s one of the fastest and most effective revolutions I’ve ever seen! Yes, I know it’s just a step to a bigger plan to overturn the people in charge of the Siltwirts, but everything is fine here. Interestingly, this episode didn’t waste any time solving the problem and settled the status quo after spending six episodes waiting for the damn ship. It feels like the plot is just everywhere, but I’m still bored with what’s going on in some way.
That’s because I don’t understand what the bet is. There are some good backstory about the situation in land and its laws. It’s fun to have a society that forbids killing anything, but it feels like a footnote rather than a show that is completely involved. How does this affect society and economics? I think Siltvelt is not allowed to eat meat if they are not allowed to fish, or there is no farm that can kill animals? But they also determine that they are a trading nation, and although they are very closed, they are also their way of understanding what is going on outside. Can they trade meat and goods from animals killed by others? It’s been a better idea for some time that I thought I would prefer the actual situation of this society than just being thrown into “we need to overthrow the monarchy”.
Speaking of this plan, what exactly is it? Naofumi and the revolutionaries seem to have an understanding that they are the same thing. They helped Naofumi get rid of the obstacles that prevented them from meeting with friends in this episode. However, the revolutionaries wanted Raphtalia to take the throne because the person in charge was sucked. Raphtalia doesn’t want to ascend the throne, the whole reason they’re here is that she can make it very clear that she doesn’t want to ascend the throne and that people don’t want to stop sending assassins to kill her. So, if they help the revolution, what exactly will happen afterward? There was no moment that seemed like Naofumi was lying or something like that, but he wouldn’t let Raphtalia suddenly become the new monarch of the land. What will happen after the revolution, or the show hasn’t thought it would be so far away? If you ask me, it seems a little irresponsible.
I hope this is not a repetition of what happened in Season 2, in which the show just accelerates in the plot to the point where it hides important details until the story decides they are related. I was a little worried when Sadeena started talking about suddenly remembering about the people of the land. If she remembered anything before, she would briefly introduce everyone so that they were all on the same page, not so fast and loose. The action doesn’t even feel well conveyed. Things are happening now and I have to wait for the show to decide when to want to tell me what the hell is going on, not to be able to determine it correctly by myself. I think now that actors have attacked the main government agencies that oversee land widely, there is no turning back now. I hope there is a practical plan to move forward.
