Episode 6 – The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity

In my opinion, one of the worst plot ideas is when the characters don’t talk to each other. I don’t mean that they didn’t have uncomfortable dialogue at all, but they intentionally withheld information to force the plot. Fragrant flowers bloom with dignity It’s easy for Subaru dissatisfiers to fall into this trap. After asking Rintaro to stay away from Kaoruko, she could have let her misfortunes sit with her guilt, pushing the story into a confrontation that would have served no purpose other than to elicit dramatic drama.

But that’s not what happened.

Instead, Subaru behaves like a real person. She still feels guilty and uncomfortable, but she also realizes that Kaoruko means too much to her to let things get out of hand. So she tells her everything – she confronts Rintaro, what she asks him to do and why, he refuses. This is a painful moment for her because she’s not sure if Kaoruko will truly accept her actions, especially since she more or less already knows that Kaoruko has a crush on Rintaro, even before speaking out loud. In Subaru’s mind, she was probably taking the band-aid off of losing her best friend, something she thought was going to happen somewhere deep inside her anyway. But she also wants to do the right thing, and since she’s already crossed a line by asking Rintaro to stay away from Kaoruko, that means admitting to what she did.

It’s a beautiful illustration of Subaru’s deep-rooted insecurities and self-loathing, and Kaoruko’s best friend. Seen through Subaru and Rintaro’s eyes, Kaoruko is more than just a human, an angel in a school uniform, and it’s not a fair view of her. But it’s easy to see this week Why They think so. She’s a genuinely good person, and she does tend to see the best in everyone. Subaru considers her her personal hero, and she realizes that this might stop Kaoruko – or at least make Subaru think Keeping her from holding back so that their relationship doesn’t change. Subaru attempts to loosen his grip on his friend by admitting her mistakes because he believes that change will not destroy their friendship. She may not be able to trust herself, but she can make up for her fear with faith in her friends.

Rintaro also proves that he doesn’t let silly plot creativity get in the way. He knows how much Kaoruko means to Subaru, and he doesn’t want to be the reason for the trouble between them, even if he says what he says not to Kaoruko. By taking the first step of talking to Subaru again, really speech To her, he proved his worth in her eyes while also holding his own ground. In fact, the two of them are more similar than they think – they’ve both been tortured by people’s assumptions about them based on how they look, which could mean they could help each other make each other more comfortable in the world. Rintaro no have Become friends with Kaoruko’s friends, but in this case, I think he and Subaru will get along even without an intermediary. They just need to realize it.

Subaru’s role isn’t easy. She probably really felt like she was risking everything by confessing to Kaoruko. But she does it anyway, which is both real character growth and a sign that everything will be okay, even if “okay” doesn’t look the way she expected it to.
