Episode 4 – One Punch Man Season 3

We’re now a third of the way through season three one punch man It’s been a waste of my time for most of its runtime so far. Then again, most of the events in this episode don’t meaningfully advance the plot. By the time the episode ends, the only meaningful changes that have occurred are the Wolf King’s increased powers and his attempts on the unibrow child, and the end of the hotpot party at Saitama’s apartment. The rest of the episode is a bureaucratic, barely animated chore.

So much for this episode. one punch man Designed to establish that the Heroes Association is gathering multiple teams to attack the Monster Association, I don’t need so much discussion of logistics and politics from a show that features characters who can win any fight with one punch. one one punch manThe biggest strength is that its character designs are extremely clear and well-written enough that viewers can quickly figure out what their deal is and why they should like them, making this buildup feel very unnecessary. The existence of a support team of C- to A-level heroes can be explained with a single line in the introduction; so much elaboration and restatement of character dynamics is unnecessary.

If I had to give this episode some praise, it’s that it starts to look better…kind of. The team is located at JC employees Start figuring out where and how to allocate their resources so that the bigger beats of the episode have a bigger impact. The resurrection of the hungry wolf, although a lot of footage from the previous episode was reused, really left a deep impression when his rejuvenated muscles swelled, and the audience also saw the determined and detailed expression of the heroic hunter. as we learned violent (2016)Still, a few cool illustrations used to space out some middling animation can’t save a show unless one punch man The best are being saved for the upcoming fight, but what we’ve seen so far still doesn’t inspire confidence.

Also, since so little happened in this episode, I wanted to take a moment to focus on the beginning of the season one punch man. Simply put, it’s a hollow echo of Season 1’s iconic opening. The show’s promised action has yet to materialize, the characters it focuses on – with the exception of Garou – have largely played passive roles in the season, and it’s shamelessly suggested that Saitama is somehow a unifying figure within the Heroes Association. I didn’t think it was possible, but this ass rock heavy opening didn’t make me even remotely excited about watching this anime.

Despite brands or larger anime-centric social media accounts desperately trying to claim otherwise, one punch man There wasn’t much hype for season three, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
