There is a little in life when you realize that people who are not like you are human. Gender, socioeconomic status, and advantages are not actually important when it comes to people peoplemany groups established around themselves by barriers or smaller groups are as artificial as blue raspberry seasoning. All of this is saying that it was Rintaro’s week to be as human as he was, even though she attended Kikyo with some girls, they thought the average boy and Chidori boys, especially the Chidori Boys, especially the Chidori Boys were the mud of their shoes.
Unlike the Kikyo Girls we’ve seen, much of Rintaro’s silence comes from within. It took him so long to be beaten that he just conditionally assumed that people would have a bad idea of him. Every little kindness hit him like a ton of bricks, and even something as ordinary as Usami said he did want to play sports day because Rintaro would be there. It’s a common thing to say to friends, but Rintaro is obviously very important to Usami’s ready-made remarks. It would be great to get good grades, but that’s not everything to him, it’s all for him. But do exercise day with friends? That’s it Pull out all the parking and pass the mid-term reason. Indeed, this is the better reason – no one in life cares what your GPA is, but good friends don’t have an expiration date.
It was Usami’s words that made Rintaro brave enough to ask Kaoruko to tutor him, but again it was after he realized her basic humanity. If he still thinks she is a wealthy Kikijo girl, he may never call the nerves, but after she tells him that she is just a normal person in a normal family, he asks him that he gets a scholarship and he finally feels it is possible to be friends with her. Suddenly, he saw her as Kaorukomore or less like him, that’s the person he can talk to.
Rintaro realizes this and the moment Subaru enters the scene, is one of the strongest works in the plot. Kaoruko goes out of his way to make it clear that she wants to be friends with Rintaro. It may have been initially related to the family cake shop, but she always sees him as a potential friend. (Maybe more, judging by all blushing.) But Subaru just saw a Chidori thug corrupt her friend, and her rude and overreaction illustrate a lot. She despises Rintaro strictly based on his gender and school affiliation. Unlike Kaoruko who knew him, she could only think of putting him in her position and “protecting” Kaoruko from him. This is even more frustrating as Rintaro strives to surpass his assumptions.
That said, Subaru’s reaction may be more than just a snobbish reaction. She flinched as Saku returned to zero on her silver hair, and her body language screamed “fear” instead of ego when she “protected” Kaoruko. Kaoruko mentioned that she knew Subaru was in trouble with the boy. This may indicate that she has been harassed or assaulted in the past, and she is almost frightened considering what we know about Rintaro’s bleached hair. She really seems to think she has to protect her friends, and Saku’s “Dotin” remarks only drive that assumption.
Rintaro has some understanding of how you react to it based on how you have been treated. He won’t let Subaru fall into the way he gets close to Kaoruko, but even if he doesn’t think about it with these terms, he won’t let Subaru’s assumption stand. He doesn’t have To convince Subaru to let him see Kaoruko, he thought, even in a small part of his way this week, he wanted to show again a kind heart he had. Hopefully others can see this too.
