Episode 3 – One Punch Man Season 3

Why does a shounen anime in 2025 take so much time to wait for? one punch manSeason 1 rose to prominence in large part because it figured out how to cut out a lot of the bloat that plagued its contemporaries and tied it all together with some hilarious genre subversion, delivering one intense fight after another. The only plot developments we get in this episode are the werewolf being beaten up (again) and the bullied unibrow kid being kidnapped and now in the monster’s stronghold.

Everything else about this episode feels like filler, which might not bode well for the rest of the season if the team behind the project has dragged its feet. Do we really need a bland fight sequence between two monster ninjas where they hype themselves up? Likewise, weren’t dragon-level monsters in Monster Guild introduced by doing something cool rather than via a businessman monster hyping it up to captured kids? Never mind that Saitama has already killed several dragon-level threats in one hit, so they only feel dangerous when they’re put in a position where they can hurt weaker characters we care about.

I’m worried that my criticism of this episode’s pacing and story structure is starting to sound pedantic, but when I one punch man It’s been done better at this in the past; especially considering this episode prompted such comparisons!

Zombie Man pays a visit to Dr. Genus and the remainder of the House of Evolution in an effort to hype up the upcoming battle of heroes versus monsters by explaining the strengths and origins of both sides. While I did like that the whole Monster Cell plot in season two was so forgettable and wasn’t even mentioned as a way for humans to become monsters, I can’t help but think that the Evolution House storyline in season one was way more fun and interesting than anything going on now.

Over the course of two episodes, Saitama is attacked by members of an evil organization, unexpectedly and hilariously defeats its members, and then eliminates the big bad he created by killing a bunch of clones and sick Neon Genesis Evangelion Design inspired by Unit 01. Season 3 punch So far, we’ve spent more time, executed worse, and done far less.

It feels like Saitama has become a bit more elegant this season. While he’s always been calculating, his almost complete absence from action so far this season has meant he’s been characterized as cheap and sullen. Still, if this season’s battle continues to look like demon slayer But with more looping animations and less sense of space, maybe I don’t want to see Saitama stained too.

Unless you’re the biggest werewolf fan in the world, there’s not much to add to this episode, and I’m praying to any god-ranked monster that the plot will finally pick up next week.
