Episode 3 – Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation

Hey ho, hey ho, we’re going to the magic mine! this week in Disney’s Twisted Wonderland Animationwe get the answer to the question no one asked, which is, “What would happen if Snow White’s seven dwarfs took the form of weird magical dwarfs?” This is the first time in the game that a battle scene has been adapted for passive viewing, as the fish’s encounter with the ghost takes an unexpected right turn toward pacifism. The classic Disney references are fast and loose, but the characterization leaves a lot to be desired.
To avoid being expelled on the first day of school, Ace and Deus (along with a reluctant Xiaoyu and a surprising fourth member, Grim) must obtain a magic stone from a magic mine. No big deal, right? At least until the monster who looks like a furry coat (or maybe the larger coat that all the dwarves wear when they dance with Snow White) has something to say about it. In game parlance, this monster is an Overblot, a form in which a character becomes overcome with negative emotions while overusing magical powers. In the game, it’s treated as a combat tutorial. But in the anime, this fight is Yu’s chance to show off his skills as a former kendo club president, getting everyone to stop bickering and unite.
That means we’re still covering the prologue Twisted Wonderland game and have Only five episodes left. I originally wrote part of this review about my concerns about the pacing, which would be fine for a standard length show but danced on a razor’s edge in this case. However, salvation comes Twisted Wonderland Early Wednesday morning, fans franchiseofficial Youtube announced Season 2 is already in production. This confirms my theory that this season will cover everything from the prologue to the end of the riddle. This certainly makes Riddler an impressive, if slightly crazy, character.
In this episode, Riddle proves that he has more magical prowess than Ace, Deuce, and Grim combined! I’d say Yu shouldn’t be on Riddle’s bad side, but it’s hard to know if he has a good side when he’s so harsh on his subordinates. The way he obeys the “hedgehog sneeze” rule of the Heartslabyul house shows that he and the Red Queen are from Alice in Wonderland Having a common twin character. paul castro jr.of dubbing The performance stands out here not only because of its sharpness, but also because he’s the only actor in the cast with a British accent. (In a post-credits scene, we learn that Rook has a French accent, so there’s more vocal variety than I initially expected.)
The episode deftly resolved the eviction plot within the allotted time while setting up Yu’s future, but I wanted more characterization. Deuce repeatedly worried about being expelled and what he would tell his mother. Why does Deuce care so much that, as Ace observes, he almost becomes a different person? Why doesn’t Ace seem to care? Did Ace and Deuce meet before the first day of school? The post-credits scene, in which the Octavian boys waver between hospitality and aloofness, becoming more and more gregarious, told me a lot more about these characters than I’ve ever known about Ace or Deuce to date. But now that I understand that the anime isn’t trying to squeeze everything into eight episodes, I worry a lot less about the pacing.
