Finally, we’re here to end the season Sacmato Day After last week’s episode was full of action, I was really curious to see how this would end. But the answer is frankly. This episode is actually starting to lay the foundation for a theoretical third season (which hasn’t been confirmed to happen as of this writing), and it’s not the worst thing it can do, but ultimately makes this feel less like the season’s finale, and more shows just hit the pause button for the foreseeable future.
After finally stopping Gaku’s exam, the JCC exam ended and everyone passed (Sakamoto except for Sakamoto who failed due to his bounty on his head). While this does bring a paranoid result to the entire ordeal, it is not without rewards. On one hand, we finally see Toramaru realizing that she has always been in front of her idol and her inevitable collapse once she brings Sakamoto’s current appearance. I’m glad her reaction was more about realizing internally, that is caring about her appearance made her a fake fan, but watching her entire worldview break, like glass, and my reaction was more about making her reaction better. Sadly, this is almost the end of any interaction between the two at the moment, but this is certainly not our last interaction with Toramaru.
It turns out that she and Mafuyu impressed Gaku enough to be welcomed by the Slur team, both of whom were kidnapped by Kanaguri, who turned out to have been working for Slur. Of course, while Slur and his partner may be anarchists, they have no plans to take advantage of their new employees, so we will at least soon offer Kashima a generous employment package before resorting to threats, and that still doesn’t. Speaking of anarchy, we also learn that if Slur succeeds in destroying the JAA, this is essentially the end of the plan, as their work sometimes leads to them dealing with criminals, and the police will never catch up with criminals. Without the existence of an organization, crime will increase significantly. In this show’s universe, the extent of violence caused by assassins and the revelation that they do play some form of criminal blockade, it’s hard not to divide some similarities between them and organized law enforcement violence in maintaining social order, which does add a lot of similarities to the existence in the story. It’s really hard to say how many were intentional, but it does make Slur’s crusade against Jaa even more interesting. If we get any future seasons, it may cause some interesting comments.
However, other than that, there is not much meat in this ending. We can really set more settings for JCC penetration, while Shin is the freshman, and Sakamoto has to hide himself as a female teacher to avoid suspicion. But while as great as Sakamoto looks, the powerful character design is not the same as a good parking point. For now, with this purpose, with a picky challenge, no direct confirmation of the new season, this makes the final episode a bit disappointing. Beyond that, I can say the least, this season is a good time overall. While it never reached the climax many fans were looking for in the battle animation department, it did at least manage to improve the first Cour’s product and further tilt the Hollywood action movie drama to make the comic so interesting. Despite all my troubles about the lack of a real stop here, the new season may be the question of when, when and when inevitably returns, and I hope we can see this adaptability continue to improve.
