Well, that must be…what.
I think we all know that the upcoming battle between Senku’s group and Stanley’s well-trained rift troops is dangerous, but I don’t think anyone is ready for the massive bleeding of this episode, which may only be covered up tightly in the age score of the material. This is Dr. StoneEquivalent to Star Wars: Rogue Onesaying “everyone eventually dies” is not too many destroyers.
Last time, Tsukasa and Nyoga met Sticky End, and Kohaku will definitely join. Now, we are igniting tensions in Taiwan’s terror death by exploding grenades. Do we really need to see his burnt body, and Gen cried for him in disbelief? Probably not, but it sells the gravity of this situation. If Chrome and Kaseki fail to perfect Medusa’s diamond battery in time, everyone’s sacrifice will be in vain and Stanley won’t wait.
As Ryusui fell from the gunfire to her chest, the makeshift lab was blown towards Smithereens, while Gen’s white flag was ruthlessly shot down, and it seemed all hope was lost. As viewers, we know that the story can’t end like this. You can’t just decide to murder all the main characters and end up with such a sour taste (at least I don’t think the author thinks riichirōinagaki Plan to imitate George RR Martin’s Red Wedding or KentarōMiuraEclipse), not when potential resurrection techniques like Medusa were so ruthlessly ridiculed in the last episode.
The tension here doesn’t necessarily come from “Oh no, everyone is dead, how terrible it is”, but “Yeah, well, despite all the murders, we know they’ll get out of it somehow, but how?” Remember, back in Corn City, Joel, the Watchman, has also been working on making Medusa batteries, and is also at the same time as Kaseki, the master craftsman of Amazon. Now, we finally came to the climax of his brief arc, as he finally succeeded…but how does that help anyone? He is in another continent, away from Medusa who needs his current function.
There is only one possible answer, of course, to retrain the world, heal everyone’s harm immediately, and to have the potential to make Senku’s vision of the future cover Xeno’s Megalomaniacal plan. Every member of the Kingdom of Science fully believes in Senku’s ideology, and even they sacrifice themselves. Yes, this is Dr. Stone In one episode, a group of American soldiers shot the entire (rampant) high school kids in cold blood. It’s crazy, surprisingly bloody, and intense. I don’t think I blinked in the entire second half of the episode.
The last sequence of everyone except Joel seems to be defeated, but why the automation message of man is subverted into one of hopes, Senku’s voice mysteriously sounds, and the second global Medusa activation is triggered enough to chill any audience. With Medusa’s green glow once again overwhelming the globe, we don’t know what crazy plans Senku has hatched to get rid of it? I’m glad to find the answer.
