Episode 1140 piece It is a solid entry every week, although its pace is somewhat insufficient.
In theory, this week’s events are powerful. I love all of this. Bonney’s drop to Pacificistas and its final turn, Luffy revitalized and returned in Full Gear 5/Nika mode, Vegapunk’s dramatic death and the arrival of Elbaf’s warriors – all things. I love all of this being isolated and together, they create a climax and a huge trend. Some changes have taken place in the world, and despite the losses, our heroes are still opposing the world government and the control of Saturn. It is heroic, exhilarating, full of iconic scenes.
I just want it to happen at a slightly skewed rate. I can’t help thinking that in this episode, it took a long time to climax. In some ways, this may be because three of these four major events have been telegraphed in advance. Few people will see the Warriors of Elbaf’s arrival, but Luffy returns to the battle, Bonney rejects Pacificas, and Vegapunk dies, and everyone feels like a body conclusion. This does not mean that they have no effect, but it can be said that a series of fully expected events will sluggish the blow.
I also tore a little bit in Vegapunk programming, sucking Failsafe into Pacfistas. This makes sense, it works, but I’m not sure about the necessity of it. We have such a long established unique connection between Kumar and Bonnie, which is a guiding light for both of them. I know this might be a little pushing, and by having Vegapunk say he has put the failed reserve, this kills him for Saturn…but hey, what can you do?
Still, there are great sequences this week. The arrival of the Elbaf Warriors is a big, exaggerated pleasure, featuring warship destruction (I think it is more rare than the sights that should be). Luffy bounces and turns the entire Egghead island into a cartoon world, from sound design to the bounced texture of the building. I love the way his power changes the space around him at these moments. Plus I smiled from his haki fist hitting Borsalino’s big belly boing Noise, wonderful.
