Jinsei Anime Film Review – Review

It’s easy to reduce Kinsey30 years old Rhea SuzukiA dedicated director made his debut this year gaku: Our voice. This is not that these two movies have nothing in common. Both have a purely independent filmmaking sense, Suzuki writing, directing, animation, editing and even for Kinsey Alone for 18 months. The result is not only impressive, but it is a solo, but one of the best anime movies of the year. There are a series of compromise effects Kinseyfrom the famous Norwegian comedy drama The Worst People in the World To Stanley Kubrick 2001: Space Odysseywhich gives the film a unique look and feel to how it handles human drama and ultimately becomes a futuristic person.
That’s because Kinsey Telling a story for more than a century. We started in the 2000s when a little boy saw his mother being knocked down by an elderly driver, which also put his father in a coma. Our protagonist stays on his stepfather Hiroshi and lives mostly anonymous because he is never called by his real name in the movie and the audience never learns it. Nevertheless, the protagonist is under several nicknames such as the God of Death, se-chan, kuro, zen, and God.
Suzuki takes a rather free-flowing approach to narrative, telling it in the chapter without much connection organization. We just catch up with different chapters of this person’s life and have to quickly catch up with his changes (or not) similar to the beginning of Frank Capra This is a beautiful lifeattract us George Baileylife story.
Our nameless protagonist reached friendship in his youth, a dream that became big in the idol industry and the two began to become stars. In the middle part, Kinsey Become a poignant exploration of the cost of celebrities, the predatory character of those who exploit young hopes and the trap of Japanese entertainment. Suzuki handles his subjects with caution and nuance, as the story of our nameless protagonist becomes a pathway from which larger themes can be truly explored, such as loneliness, total war, fame, friendship, and more. The protagonist spends most of his films in silence, either speaking in short sentences and speaking in rather monotonous voices. Rapper Ace Cool brings a sense of vulnerability and conspiracy to the protagonist, conveying lines in a voice of acquiescent, surrounding the guy with a seductive mystery, he is everywhere, becoming a star, giving little star to his inner thoughts.
Suzuki’s minimalist visuals and pastel palette focus more on character expression and frame than lush backgrounds or details, making the film manageable enough to make it yourself, but it adds something to the film. Our protagonists run through life and don’t care about anything, even in disasters and wars, people miss the beauty that life has to offer. In Act III, however, Suzuki completely changes gears, visuals and story become abstract, color and surrealism breaks down as we explore the distant future. Due to its free flowing nature, this story does exhaust steam at several points in the film, especially the ending, which is a way to abandon its roots. 2001: Space Odysseyleave the earth in an unknown place. It deserves praise for a narrative experiment, but in the first few chapters and decades of this person’s life, it lacks the richness of simplicity.
Kinsey When it speculates on the future of Japan, it enters into grand territory. Nevertheless, when it deals with just a simple and solid story, how a person’s name shapes his life, it makes for a engaging, engaging debut, which shows how exciting the future of Japanese indie animation is.
