Episode 11 – Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus

Throughout this season, there are two imminent mysteries in each arc. First of all, what should we do with our nominal Santa Touko Kirishima? The second is # – the universality of Dreaming, and how young people from all over Japan seem to see the future in their dreams. This episode kicks off the process of solving both.
For Touko, we know something about people outside of Sakuta (and his female equivalent Mito). Touko was the queen of the school before Mai arrived, which she immediately replaced. Due to the complex feeling of being deprived and discarded, she was infected with puberty syndrome in a similar way to Mai, but that seems to be only half the story. She also seems to have a relationship with Sakuta’s college friend Takumi. She was the reason Takumi went to this special university, and she was obviously upset that he couldn’t sense her, either.
But the most interesting thing we know about Touko is that she is not the person behind the rumors that she and Mai are the same person. In fact, she was obviously angry at the idea – Mey did nothing to dispel the rumor. Mai accidentally lived her school life, and now she wants to take her musical? Not surprisingly, she had no empathy in the midfield against Sakuta.
That is to say, the reason for the rumor is not anyone. Instead, this is a prophecy related to #DReaming. Thousands of people dream of Mai, announcing her as Touko at the upcoming music festival. In fact, almost everyone who is not an “adult” seems to dream about that day, whether they attend a concert or not. However, there are three odd numbers. Mai and Touko, although at the center of activity, dreamed of it. Meanwhile, Tomoe’s own remnants of puberty syndrome have aroused dreams, making her daily concert life from now to dreams, making her the knowledge needed to exploit.
But our greatest knowledge of prophetic dreams is that they may not prophecies at all. Instead, they may have a glimpse of a similar parallel world. Given the fact that both this season and the previous movie are intertwined with a world like this, it’s a great choice, and we know exactly which world this is: the perfect world of Sakuta.
The biggest tip we get for this is Sakuta’s dream at the beginning of the episode. In it, he uses his cell phone. Our Sakuta hasn’t encountered one in years due to the events around his sister. But in the perfect world schedule, Sakuta quickly resolves Kaede’s syndrome, meaning he doesn’t need to stop using them. Then there is the fact that in the film, Sakuta first learns about Touko, thanks to his perfect world’s warning to her, which is really that he’s already dealing with her.
However, there is a problem with this theory that Kaede either relapses or has never been cured from her puberty syndrome, first of all, in the dream she witnessed. So #Dreaming might not actually be the perfect schedule, it might actually be the most imperfect schedule to witness – everything about Sakuta and Mai is coming up in the worst way. We only have to wait until next week to learn more.
