Himeji is a girl who thinks it is natural for people to love her – love is what happens to her, not what she does. So it brought her a huge shock when her childhood friend Kasai realized he didn’t love her. Literally, she couldn’t understand – probably not seeing Kasai’s point of view – directly led to her adolescence syndrome: the ability to see and hear their thoughts through the eyes of others.
Of course, the purpose of this ability is to let her learn empathy to discover her limitations and that the world does not revolve around her. However, due to her long-standing tendency to be self-centered, she seduces every man and boy who brings her eyes to her with her help. Himeji desperately proves in her subconscious that she can have any man she wants, and that’s how she sees the world all the time. She went from a popular boy in school to a primary school teacher, showing that even taboo relationships were easy to achieve…and then there was Sakuta.
Sakuta represents both the ultimate challenge and the final decisive evidence that teenager Himeji holds tightly is correct. He is a guy who dates Mai Sakurajima, where the most beautiful and popular teenage celebrity. If Himeiji could steal him from Mai, then she could have any man she wanted. But, as she discovered, Sakuta is not a horny high school student or a lonely middle-aged man. Instead, he is a loving relationship person.
All the tips she learned – breaking into targets on the street, sharing secrets and constantly flirting – were easily eliminated by him. Even monitoring one’s own thoughts and seeing through his eyes is very little. Of course, using her power to unravel the walk, the mystery he talks about is what he wants – he’s happy to help you – but nothing she can do will lead to Sakuta cheating on Mai. Himeji has no space in his heart because he loves Mai’s entire existence.
But the real death stud in the Himeji worldview comes from the fact that Mai feels the same about Sakuta. Mai is a complete package. Not only did people naturally attract her physical beauty and calm personality, but she also had the ability to love her people in ways that Himeji could not do. No one can replace Sakuta in Mai’s life. Others may think it doesn’t matter if they have too much difference in their social status. There is no random celebrity pretty boy to offer Mie the love she has already received from Sakuta.
And, it is facing a woman who seems to be superior to her, forcing Himeji to accept reality. She can’t have anyone she wants. Not everyone loves her naturally. She is not the center of the world. Most importantly, she saw evidence that “beloved by the one you love the most” is a superior feeling than making a large number of people who fall in love with you. If she wants this kind of love (such as Sakuta and Mai’s love), then she must give up her childhood conception of love and growth.
Of course, with this recognition, her power was lost. She could no longer read Touko’s idea, and if something like this, Touko would not be able to be perceived by the people around her. Worse, addressing Himeji’s puberty syndrome makes Sakuta meet with Touko very late, which can have some serious consequences as we enter the final arc of the season.

Random thought:
•The future of Sakuta and Himeji dreams will never pass. However, neither of them took the initiative to change it. I wonder if it was Mai that appeared in “Date” that changed things, and in the original schedule, Himeji was able to read Touko’s ideas after all.
•While Himeji is very trying to steal Mai’s man, Mai seems almost a pity for the girl. She was not angry or threatened. She just hopes Himeji understands the love she missed.
•While Mai’s manager apparently played Chaperon on this hot spring trip, should we believe that these two lovebirds have never encountered it? Because to be honest, this seems impossible.
• Sometimes the thighs are slightly more sexy than the slipperiest bikini.
