Dinner Table Detective Anime Series Review – Review

The first impression is very important. Title is usually a key part of the anime’s first impression. IPSO FACTO, anime needs to have a good title to capture the essence of the show. But I’m not sure”Dining table detective“As the title. It captures my curiosity about what this even means and why. It’s clumsy and sounds unnatural in English, so it’s not a localized option. It prompts a question: What is a “dining table detective?” ”I watched the whole show, but I’m still not too close to that. This mystery will be solved after dinner; “The mystery will be solved after dinner”, the mantra of one of the characters in the anime. As a title, this is the perfect choice! While I certainly have some theories, I can only speculate why the accepted “table detective” has replaced it on the finish line rather than baseline translation, or similarly shortened its changes. This is a very mysterious choice and I’d love to know the reason behind it.
I wish I could sit here and tell you that sometimes, even if I’m not passionate about its title, I love this anime. But, unfortunately, sometimes the first impression is completely correct – sometimes they downplay how bad things are. I said, don’t imply that localization in the rest of the series is terrible – it’s stiff and bland, and there’s a lot of obvious room for improvement to go, but overall it’s available. Unfortunately, my grip on the title is just an appetizer.
If you use any detective media, every mystery in this series is totally old and plain. Without enthusiasm, rarely any substantial bets, nor the general indifference to the mysteries that exhaust them, as if the anime was trying to make you think: “The show itself and its characters don’t seem to care, so why do I want it?” Of course, it feels like this – our central character, Reiko, didn’t even solve these mysteries for himself. Instead, she asked her housekeeper all the answers, and he sometimes only inferred it. Laziness and half-life, and didn’t even begin to describe it. To put it simply, there is no love that really solves the mystery in this show.
There is no doubt that our main trio is one of the worst protagonists and most ineffective detectives in history I’ve seen in Mysterious Anime – hosts of Soul, Mount Cage and Inspector Kazamatsuri; a wealthy heiress whose detective is a double life, her Butler performs better than her at work, while the Aura bosses come from extreme wealth respectively. Theoretically, the series revolves around them solving mysteries. In the first episode, we learn that the soul becomes invisible wealth when she avoids any special treatment while she is in detective mode, and only “higher” can know her truth. However, throughout the series, we have never seen her solve any crime by only her intellectuals. Instead, she relies heavily on her smarter, more capable Butler Kageyama. Often, Lingjing doesn’t even consider the most obvious possibilities, such as the potential of someone to throw away criminal accessories or the possibility of a different shoe that may change his height. Kageyama often teases her about her lack of detective talent. It’s because he’s just romping or savage, but frankly, he’s right when he points out she’s just not worth the salt.
While all this may cause you to think, Kageyama is not a clever cookie either. Of course, sometimes he does really solve some of the mysteries or at least the key elements of it. But other times (often) his deductions are based on evidence so fragile that they can be compared to him, saying that he just gets a weird atmosphere from someone or something, and then he coincidentally ends up being right. Several times, for any reason, he had decided who he thought was the culprit, and then he worked backwards, whether meaningful or not. He was not very smart because he was lucky, his soul was not smart enough to realize that many of his so-called inferences were just lucky guesses.
The three detectives are scout Kazamatsuri – Reiko is the boss of the detective and the heir to the car company. He is a classic clumsy clown who is super full of himself, intending to be a comedy relief. To his credit, he did a great job-the bar was low, but his delightful mannerisms and attitudes were usually the highlight of each episode. Like Reiki, he is a detective with no sense of self, i.e. how terrible he is at work. Unlike Reiko, since it laughs in Kazamatsuri, it feels like the series wants us to do that. In contrast to this is the soul, whose lack of power is something the series realizes, but never willing to work hard – almost like the series creators Tokuya Higashigawa Hopefully she relies on her own housekeeper but can’t reconcile how he does this without having to let her get out, like an ungrateful Nepo Baby, in the worst case, unbearably annoying. So instead of piercing the needle, he chose to do nothing and hang it around the neck of the entire series like an albatross.
Reiko and Kazamatsuri prove how disastrous it is to try to get jobs that are not worthy for unknown wealthy people, at the expense of working class members with the right knowledge and skills, and he has succeeded. While the subtext drizzles throughout the series, it is unknown. Also, there is a question of how Reiki doesn’t want special treatment, which is not properly qualified to hire wealthy children in her and Kazamatsuri area, a detail that has never been recognized, let alone meaningfully explored. This makes me suspect that this “eating rich angle” was intentional, not something that happened by chance. Unfortunately, because putting more stocks into this topic can give some urgently needed spices for this anime.
Still, this anime is not completely without its merits. Especially, it’s hard to beat the legend Mamoru Miyano As the overly enthusiastic Kazamatsuri. However, Miyano’s gravity isn’t the only reason I recommend this submarine Dubbing This show is anytime, anywhere. Even if the Miyano of the Always is taken out of the equation, we are piled up submarines and filled with always great performances Kana Hanazawa (Reiqi) and YūkiKaji (Kageyama). In addition, in sharp contrast Dubbing It feels like an incredible call, and it’s the first time any member of its main cast has role-played in any voice – individual voices have any experience in the anime (although Celeste Robberyplays the role of Reiki, plays Kaia in live action piece).
I’m always too critical Dubbing Actors have limited performance experience. in the case of Dining table detectiveThey all lack experience in sound performance, but plunder and Conradie van Heerden (kazamatsuri) has a considerable amount of live agent credit on its IMDB page.
At the same time, the visual effect is not terrible, but it is not a feast for the eyes. The animation itself is good, but the style itself favors bright, usually saturated colors, brightly shaped shadows and highlights. This makes the background look weird in particular, as if someone takes a photo, rotates it half-heartedly, increases saturation, adds some contours, and calls it a day. I don’t mind, but it’s easy to imagine that this won’t be everyone’s tea.
Just No Sugar Coating: If this is a worthwhile mystery anime, you’ll crave Dining table detective What is on the menu and you will starve to death. What is the meal in question? The detective can’t start, one side is terrible Dubbingand the help of tasteless characters and mysteries.
