Original Macross Valkyrie Toy Revived in 2026 With More Joints – Interest

“The Origins of Valkyrie: VF-1J Valkyrie 45th Anniversary.” Edition also brings back printed markings
Bandai revealed at Thursday’s Tamashii Nation 2025 event that it will re-release its first toy Macross Macross The animated, 1/55 scale VF-1J Valkyrie will be released in 2026 to celebrate 45 years of toys and animation. (Technically, the 45th anniversary is in 2027.)

“Origins of Valkyrie: VF-1J Valkyrie 45th Anniversary”. The re-release adds some new joints (notably the thigh swivel joint) that “enhance playability without compromising the original’s design” – although it’s obviously not as flexible as the original Transformers‘The latest Missing Link toys. The new 1/55 Valkyrie also features more printed markings rather than stickers like some previous versions.

Bandai took over mold making and released further variations of the toy in 1984 and 2001 under its Hi-Metal line. (These molds are also known to go into Transformers Bandai launched the “Valkyrie Origins” series in 2008, re-issuing 1/55 toys, first launching the VF-1J (Hikaru) and VF-1S (Roy Falk) variants in July 2008, and launching two VF-1A Super Valkyrie variants (Hikaru and Max) in August 2008. (Not shown here is the 1990 reissue, which had its own unique head design and clip-on canopy cover.)
