one piece Episode 1146 picks up from the hiatus and has a lot of hard hits, even if its forward momentum is a bit weak.
I think most of you, like me, are waiting with baited breath one piece Return from break. I’m excited to see the show back on air after a long few weeks, although I must admit I hoped for a little more than what we got. Maybe it’s a false expectation, but I can’t quite separate myself from the present, can I?
Episode 1146 was pretty solid. I wish I could say more, but it doesn’t have to be the end of the world. The Fifth Elder’s monster forms are the focus for much of the game, with many events revolving around what they’re doing, who they’re interacting with, and who they’re beating up. Of course, everyone has to note – Egghead Island has become a pirated version of Monster Island at this point – so the story stays with them. Frankly, it’s one of the most concentrated in the entire series. With all five Elders shown in their true forms in one place, it’s well beyond the scope and certainly better than a single villain the team has faced off against in the past. Heck, even other major battles like Marineford pale in comparison to the raw power on display. These guys rule the world, and they all hang out on an island run by Bega Punk (the guy who, uh, invented half of the technology we see on screen).
I just wish the elders were more prominent to better match that importance. Sadly, since all the elders’ monster forms are running around at the same time, and each individual monster form doesn’t have enough buildup, they just run together. This feels like “Saturn and the Gang,” rather than five different villains tearing up Eggman Island. Still threatening and important, mind you, but I wish each enemy had more uniqueness.
Still, Luffy showing off his powers is worth the price of admission. It’s nice to see the old Gear form being used again, as it at least means Luffy is more than just a Gear 5, and that each of his previous abilities has potential use cases (I like that there’s a bit of horizontal progression alongside the vertical progression). Of course…the Gear 3 doesn’t do any of that, so it mutes some of the impact.
Still, nice to have one piece is back, so hopefully the team can build momentum again.
