Brain Damage Manga Review – Review

All short stories collections are mixed bags. Anyway, this is not a derogatory statement about a short story. This is just the essence of the beast. Brain injurya collection of four horror stories by comic creators Shintaro Kagodefine this trend. When it’s good Very Very good, play horror and comedy in the same way. But when it staggers, it can be hard to descend, leading to several difficult stories.
From a writing perspective, the strongest work is the second Curse Room. The back copy describes it as a “rich health care assistant” who works with the zombies, but this doesn’t happen in most stories. Looking for plots that don’t seem to appear is part of the intensity of the work. You know what it is Assumptions It’s coming, but there’s no real sign. Kago plays our expectations in a variety of ways, starting with a young woman who looks like a haunted house with her friend helping her best friend. But as the page turns, it starts to look not exactly right. There are some fragments in young women’s lives that don’t add up. Is this just a trouble, or is there something else?
The answer is only half of the work, which is another strong element of the story. We found the truth about the young woman and her friends in almost too easy ways. Yes, yes, but somehow reminiscent of the 1962 movie Carnival of the soul More than anything else – it’s sad and disturbing, but not really Terrible. Things start to really disband only when “friends” are actually health assistants for plot descriptions, which makes the upper half of the story portray all the success and good intentions, naive, naive, and stupidest at best. The effective ending is a bit humorous.
This is the hallmark of most stories. Kago often inserts some sense of humor into the ending of his story. It works best in the process because it plays with the readers’ expectations and is organically organic as the plot. That’s why it’s not very effective in the fourth story, Harvest bloodbecause the whole setup is very stupid. Maybe “campy” is the better word – it has all the genius of classic B-horror movies that only takes the dangerous thing when abused by humans and made bloodthirsty and meaningful. The less spoiled you for this story, the better, because you find yourself happy. I do feel Kago’s use of humor weakens the ending, though. While the piece has always been camping, the silly way the creator tilts the final page is like a step too far. B movies are fun because they take themselves seriously. Harvest blood In the end, this cannot be done.
The third story is the most difficult story in the batch. Family portrait Frankly, it takes a lot of time. It’s a family trying to cope with an increasingly unstable grandfather, a man who is often sexually harassed and abused his teenage granddaughter. Apart from that, people nearby began to disappear, leaving only clothes, and no one knew whether they were murdered. The two situations are done well to tell each other, and it’s a statement about the power of human mind and what happens when it starts to degrade, such as someone suffering from dementia. But the “jokes” of sexual assault (they should have been fun) get rid of any cleverness in the actual plot, which makes the worst story in the book. If it missed that element, it would be pretty good.
And the first story, Maze Quartet Not bad, but largely unobtrusive, except for the combination of Yuri and horror, the entire volume carries various horror elements from art and writing. Those who aren’t bloody fans may not want to pick it up because it won’t shy away from all forms, including body horror and plain old images. Family portrait It also uses holes that should not have any (i.e., on the human body) although its development is less than a little distance. It’s Zhu Jiuse trŷpait still makes people suffer from phobia.
While some of the images in the book may be creepy, Fantagraphics’ physics book is beautiful. Different Angry cloudthis does not have a dust cover for textured paper, but its larger decorative size and thicker pages make it a pleasure to hold and read it. The cover does show fingerprints, but the binding is great for putting the book on without damaging it, and it does feel like it’s worth the asking price of $29.99. Zack DavissonAs always, the translation is excellent.
If you are a horror fan, Brain injury It’s a great collection, if you like Campy B-Movie horror, then double that. The third story has some serious problems, the fourth story will be a little weakened, but if you like it It’s Zhu JiThis is a good time to discover Shintaro Kago The same is true.
