Alternative [Self Liner Note] Manga Review – Review

This single-shot comic fell into my legs because of course, it would. I love guitars, I love anime and manga about guitarists. And, when you incorporate 90s junk music into it, you have the most obvious choice in the world. Comic creator Chiaka Yagura choose [Self Liner Note] It’s a story with the spirit of grunge lyricism, packed with an artistic style that is as ragged as the thrift store costume Kurt Cobain and once swayed on the stage.

Since the comic selection makes Nirvana host the ideal I for the main character Rio, it’s easy to compare with Cobain. In every way, she looks and acts like her idol: she raises long blonde hair, slim body and numerous anxiety. She plays the “heart box” on the music player, and most Cobain’s guitar style is also reduced. A group showed that Rio’s guitar tones were dialing all the way to 10 on the boss’s DS-1 pedal. Rio does waving the fender jazz guitar than Cobain prefers the fender jaguar. Not that this is a huge difference to me, as the blurry tones of these two guitars sound very similar. But I’m off topic.

choose [Self Liner Note] Follow Rio to try to make music and find inspiration in her directionless life. She has surpassed Kurt for a year and at the age of 28, she still has nothing to show. Rio lingers in a slutty lingering on the comic panel until she finds the inspiration for the last perfect song. To explain Soundgarden’s song, Rio becomes the day she tries to live and realizes that the words she says never seem to match the words in her mind. i.e., discourses of suspicion, shame, regret and possible suicidal tendencies. Rio passively fantasizes entering Club 27just to warn yourself afterwards. For me, it was a Yikes moment. I never cared about the romanticization surrounding Kurt Coben’s suicide because I felt it would reduce his life’s legacy, even if choose [Self Liner Note] Choose to cancel it and do so after flirting with this idea first.

The art style of this comic is as messy as possible. The panel looks painted, giving the character and environment an unbalanced feel. This makes sense. Trash is a messy, noisy rock, so choose [Self Liner Note]The art should also be unclean. Reading this reminds me of famous scenes Bocchi Rock! She suffered anime with panic attacks, which also had a similar jittery style. If it works in that little bit Bocchiand then I think it’s good everywhere choose [Self Liner Note] same.

At the end of the comic, Chiaki Yagura leaves a note saying they have finished writing choose [Self Liner Note] When they were twenty-eight, Rio was in the comics. I’m assuming this makes choose [Self Liner Note] The semi-autobiographical style of nature – Yagura left a playlist of her favorite 90s Alt-Rock tunes, cementing the idea further. The story of finding one’s own way in the inner turmoil has been told a thousand times, so seeing the comic adopt the story through shaky music makes for an interesting and introspective reading. And, as a fan of my own 90s, I would have lied if I didn’t say that this kind of comics didn’t charm me.

The last miscellaneous item. One character told Rio that they heard she was “in a downturn.” As a still rock the same Alice on the chain The shirt he’s been making since high school, I almost read it as “in a hole.”
