Popular Korean online novels Members of Congress expressed condolences to me“” written by Kim Hyun Bin is being adapted into a live-action series. The original novel was published from 2021 to April 2024 and is popular for its unique combination of political satire and fantasy.
The story tells that 10 years ago, six-term Congressman Young-jin Goo passed away and returned to the world as a ghost. Unable to interact with anyone except Cha Jae-rim, a low-level civil servant who can see him, Goo begins a second chance at life—this time beyond the grave.
The webtoon adaptation drawn by CYAN will be serialized on Kakao Webtoon starting in 2024.
The live-action version aims to bring the sharp political commentary and supernatural twist of the online novel to the screen. Production details and broadcast network information have not yet been announced.
