I’ll be honest: when I saw this week’s episode title Gnosis Being a “new crew”, I only care about two things. I need to know more about the actual gray alien we only saw for a second last week, and I need to meet the white whale in the closing credits. us Do I’m going to be spending a lot of time with the gray alien Maotong this week, so I have to give Gnosis At least have some credit. However, the complete lack of any smart and cutely equipped aquatic mammals is heartbreaking. In retaliation for this targeted narrative misconduct, it took all my professional restraint not to give this episode a one-star rating.
Maton and Stella make some interesting additions to the cast that greatly expand the possibilities for this week’s Werewolf formula, so I guess I’d be wrong to complain too much. As any self-respecting modern “time loop twisting murder game” type story needs to do, Gnosis is playing with the changing expectations that come with each new world line for Yuri, and allowing viewers to play with the distinctly red (and maybe not so red) herrings that come with each new face added to the cast. Of course, it’s too obvious to turn the literal stereotype of an otherworldly alien into reality. Gnosis Judgment for this episode…but maybe that’s what we’re about to do hypothesis to think. However, if it wasn’t Mao Dao, it would be clearly It would be misleading to place all our suspicion on the persistent and clingy Stella…but we’ve also been through the timeline of SQ and Gina Gnosisso we won’t do them Guilty person again…right? Setsu can’t possibly end up being Gnosis In the early days of running, or at least that’s what I thought meeting Think about it if I don’t doubt the author Gnosis I’ve thought of me, of them, of me, and—

The point is, I think we can all see where the fun is GnosisTwisted stories will emerge, provided it keeps those plates spinning with the same entertaining confidence they have done so far. A good sign is that the show has adjusted its pace to accommodate the audience’s growing understanding of the formula. Wrathion’s entire speech and trial are skipped in one cut, which is a great comedic beat that respects the audience’s time and their intelligence, something that many other similar shows and games could learn from. It also means the episode can properly tease out the tension and drama of the really important Werewolf bout that serves as the climax of the week. Clearly, Shigetsu’s presence on the ship is something the story needs to address, and to wave off his entire appearance as “it’s just artificial skin from an accident I had” only makes the guy more suspicious. The show also goes out of its way to emphasize how horny the Stella character is for Yuri, which is a classic red flag for such suspense dramas. Is Stella just obsessed with raw power, Yuri’s androgynous Liz, or could Stella have more to offer insidious intention?
Cleverly, this episode got Stella’s love Gnosis Get out of the way, because the tension here doesn’t really come from a guessing game of who’s who Gnosis Or not. this real The source of anxiety is that Yuri still isn’t very good at playing Space Werewolf. On one hand, I can see how Yuri’s insistence that Gina is the murderer might be frustrating, since we’ve already recognized the fact that events in previous world lines have nothing to do with what happens to Yuri in any timeline after they wake up, but it’s a lesson Yuri might need to learn more explicitly so that the show can be absolutely certain that we’re all on the same page.
this is allowed Gnosis Get a real insight into Yuri’s strategy third We do a round of research in this episode, which leads to yet-to-be-revealed other Subvert our expectations. It’s no surprise that another new character this week was voted frozen before the end credits rolled, but just when I was ready to be disappointed with the rerun of Exile didAs it turns out, the crew figured it out, and Yuri was transported to another world line with absolutely no warning or indication of what was causing it. So, now we know that the basic premise of this expanded Werewolf Gauntlet isn’t what it seems, as simply eliminating Gnosis Retreating from the proceedings isn’t enough to break Yuri out of the cycle they seem to be trapped in. When you combine all the formula tweaks we get with the show’s typically strong presentation, you get an episode that goes by in a blink of an eye. All we can do now is reluctantly wait another week so we can get back into the game and try to figure out what the hell is going on now.
