Live-action show based on webtoon series Mr. Kim’s dream life will be Netflix October 25th. Netflix Clips from the series begin streaming Thursday.

The drama is adapted from Song Hee-gu’s best-selling novel and its webcomic. It tells the story of a middle-aged man who loses everything he once valued and embarks on a journey to find his true self beyond the title of corporate manager.

Created by Kim Byūng-gwan Kim and serialized since 2023, this webcomic has resonated with readers with its down-to-earth and emotionally resonant storyline, with more than 10 million views within a month of its release.

At a production press conference held in Seoul on October 22, actor Ryu Seung-ryong, who plays Mr. Kim, reflected on changes in the industry, noting: “The pre-production system has improved a lot. We used to have to shoot all night, but now the situation is much better.” He added, “Thanks to the 52-hour work week and sufficient preparation time, we are able to focus on discussions, readings, and on-site adjustments to create better dramas.”

The cast also includes Myung Se-bin, who plays Kim Jong-un’s wife Park Ha-jin, and Cha Kang-yoon, who plays Kim Jong-un’s son.

Fans can watch the series at Netflix.
