Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Game Review – Game Review

Sonic’s racing game history has been pretty complicated over the years, and that’s being generous. You might think that for a franchise If we focused on characters that were faster than the average mascot platformer, we would have had better, more beloved racing games over the past few decades. I haven’t played every Sonic game on the planet, but whatever sonic drift or sonic knight Racing games in the Sonic franchise have always been considered a mixed bag, or at best, just okay, and at worst, extremely unpopular and forgettable. Plus, the less we talk about Kinect gaming, the better. So I think there’s going to be a lot of pushback for saying that Sonic Racing Across the World Undoubtedly the best in the entire racing game franchise. However, you might be shocked to hear me say that this is probably one of the best racing games I’ve played in the past decade.

one of the best things Sonic Racing Across the World The thing is, it doesn’t pretend to be anything more than what’s advertised on the box. It has many of the typical features we expect from such a package. We have vehicle customization, different types of vehicles suitable for different styles, tons of characters to choose from, more highly anticipated DLC coming soon, and the game runs smoothly. I was a little worried because I had some connectivity issues during testing, but running it on PC feels like a dream. Loading times barely last a few seconds, jumping into online lobbies with friends or strangers is incredibly fast, and the game runs at a staggering 60 FPS. That last bit is particularly impressive because at times there was so much going on on screen that it really felt overstimulating.
Whether you’re playing against the computer or other players online, the game can get extremely chaotic. I’m not saying it’s going to be overwhelming from a gameplay perspective, because again this is a standard racing game. There’s a drift system so you get extra bursts of speed while drifting, you can collect rings to gradually increase your top speed over the course of a race, and there are items divided into different categories. You have speed items, defense items, hazard items, attack items, etc. You can bump into your opponents to make them drop rings that slow them down, you can use some items to block other items, you can perform tricks on ramps for extra boosts, and you can even customize your vehicle with chips to enhance your experience with additional perks. Maybe you want to make it easier to pull off a stunt for an extra burst of speed every time you jump off a ramp? Maybe you want to start a match with an item right away? Or would you like to be able to carry three items throughout the race? Although the setup is simple and relatively routine, there are dozens of options to explore.

if you think mario map Very radical, you haven’t seen anything yet. Whether it is battle mode or standard racing, online or computer battle, this game makes people excited. There is a difficulty curve, as each time you enter a Grand Prix you are paired up with an opponent, and the game seems to gradually try to gauge how difficult the match is for you. If you’re able to beat your opponents at a certain level, the game gradually raises the level of those opponents, making the overall game more difficult. If you’re able to beat your opponents or come out on top, you’ll earn extra tickets that can be used to purchase more customization options. But man, if you’re not prepared, you’re going to get crushed. As soon as the game starts, you can get hit by a lot of objects, you can be knocked into walls, or run over by trucks. It takes you a few seconds to recover, but those few seconds can be the difference between second place and 10th place. Sometimes it feels like higher-ranked opponents are naturally faster by default, but the game makes it possible for you to outrun them; you just have to bring your A-game. If one set of skills isn’t working for me, then maybe I should try something else? Maybe I should do strength training instead of speed training? Maybe I should focus less on techniques and more on items? There are pros and cons to each option, but it really depends on how you get the most out of the game.
However, I think part of the reason I didn’t get frustrated was the game’s charm and attention to detail. There’s no real story in it Across the worldand it does feel like we live in a world where spin-off game stories are becoming less and less common. But to make up for that, the game is packed with dozens of individual character interactions. Ian Flynn Back to writing lines for all the characters throughout the Grand Prix. However, what I appreciate is that Ian actually wrote the specific dialogue interactions when certain characters compete against each other in these tournaments. Some of them may come off as fairly average, but others feel surprisingly unrewarding for those who are dedicated. Sonic fan. What we get is not as deep as what we get sonic frontierbut I didn’t expect Cream Bunny to mention how Victor had a crush on her mom. I didn’t expect Sage to comment on the possibility of her father, Dr. Eggman, invading Blaze’s dimension after taking over the world. Even in a racing game like this, it feels like Sonic the Hedgehog is starting to expand, and as a huge fan, I appreciate it all.

The voice acting delivered by all of these is mostly solid, with some of it sounding excellent. I really love how Sage has become a mainstay in the cast since her debut. sonic frontierand Ryan Bartley It does a great job of making her sound aggressive without losing her monotone voice. I also think some of the new cast of returning characters sound like a good fit, like the Rogues of Babylon, who haven’t really been in a Sonic Racing game in a long time, even though that was their thing. I think the only thing that sounded a little off was Amy’s voice. It did feel like her delivery lost a bit of its grit over time, but that wasn’t really a problem. I also don’t like that some characters don’t have voice acting or unique forms of interaction. This may be due to the nature of some of these characters as DLC characters, but Warehog just grunts and doesn’t interact with any characters, despite being just a different version of Sonic. There’s so much attention to detail in this game that it feels like something is…missing?
None of this even begins to describe how great this game’s soundtrack is. Songs remixed and remastered throughout Sonic franchise here. Everything has extra crunchy sound effects, and the whole thing is a feast for the ears and eyes. If I haven’t made it clear enough, this game is great. Sonic has really done well over the last few years, I wasn’t expecting that Travel across the world Another impressive step up in quality. It’s hard to say how long the game’s shelf life will be, especially since there isn’t any real dedicated single-player content outside of being good at the game. But if they keep up the magic, stick with the upcoming DLC characters, and add different franchises, we’ll be enjoying a truly amazing game for years to come.
