Interview: My Hero Academia: All’s Justice Producer Aoba Miyazaki on Creating More than a Sequel

An sat down with the game’s producer Aoba Miyazaki in the 2025 Tokyo Game Show to learn more about it.

What advice did you receive from it kōheihorikoshi [the author of My Hero Academia] While making exclusive stories for the game?

Aoba Miyazaki: The story mode is not the original story, but a faithful copy of the original work, allowing players to experience it. The teamwork mission mode you play today is a primitive story and I think you can see students growing because that leads to the last battle, so I hope you will expect it.

kōheihorikoshi Specifies that all Class 1-A are playable characters. How do you design a large number of characters, including villains, to feel unique when playing the game?

Miyazaki: First of all, it’s an action game – a combat action game – so we’ve designed the action so we can accurately reproduce the quirks of the characters from both anime and manga series. The game has the most characters of any console game [in the series]so we’ve been trying to balance it. We still don’t have the final product yet – we’re still making adjustments.

I saw Izuku using his black man while presenting the demo. What is the game inspiration behind it?

Miyazaki: When watching the original manga or anime, the battle scenes naturally occupy the visual effect. But when it comes to movement or manipulation of other characters, we discuss details like “this is how they rotate” in the development team. We work hard to create character expressions and move sets to truly capture the quirks in the world My Hero Academic.

My Hero Academic: All justice Set as the new “Asclimb” system. Will you introduce it in detail on the ascending system?

Miyazaki: As you have played before, you can trigger the “rise” by pressing the joystick and fill in the ascent meter in battle, which you can use at any time. These include the ability to rise, improve technical performance, and depending on the character, they can undergo changes in form like the original work – each character has its own unique rise. In a 3-on-3 battle, the last character will experience the “ultimate rise”, a very powerful “rise” and its final form. These are some exciting battle transitions you’d like to see, so look forward to it.

Will there be special or final actions when using the “Asclimb” system?

Miyazaki: When special movements are involved, the “enlarge” movement has moved from the previous one [One’s Justice] series.

Miyazaki: We kept the parts that received good response from fans and made changes where there were improvement requirements, or there we saw a new gaming feel. Miyazaki: I still say a lot now, but we want to create a pleasant environment so that players who buy and play games can enjoy them for a long time. Therefore, please look forward to future information.

Miyazaki: The current season pass is for characters – including playable characters. There are some other items like clothing, so I hope you can check it out as well.

What is the balance between the playable characters players expect from online games? Can players expect regular balance updates?

Miyazaki: This time, for the 3v3 combat operation, we realize that the balance between players will put them at a disadvantage. So, we have put in a huge effort to balance the adjustments for the current online combat and single player modes. Of course, we are building the foundation to make sure everything is in full shape when it is released. However, when new roles are introduced, we will directly address any necessary issues. We want to provide an environment where players can enjoy the game for a long time, so we have been constantly adjusting the balance for a long time.

Competitive games have become increasingly popular over the past 20 years. What plan is My Hero Academic: All justice Implement a competitive scenario to the court?

Miyazaki: It would be great if we could have a competition. If some people want to participate in a future, or they contact us, our staff will be happy to offer something that suits them.

Miyazaki: The final season of the anime will begin in October this year. We would love to share with everyone the excitement built in the final season of the anime through this game.
