So far, we’ve been buying a hypothesis-Our Santa’s beauty is the only Touko Kirishima. But you know what they think about the assumption.
Basically, Nene is the queen bee of the university. Beautiful and talented, she knows exactly where she is: in the spotlight. But then it was her third year of college and the arrival of Mey. The country is known for her beauty and acting talent, who can hope to compete with Mai? Of course not a girl from Hokkaido.
Just like that, Nene lost her entire identity. Mai covered her effortlessly. who is she? What does she have? there is nothing. But then there was Touko Kirishima. A YouTuber who never showed her face and voiced almost the same as Nene herself. Nene can simply pretend to be Touko to escape her collapsed life and live a new life. After all, no one can prove that she is not Touko Kirishima unless the original Mrs. doxx, and despite her popularity, it seems unlikely.
With the help of puberty syndrome, she became Touko. Of course, this has consequences – mixing her with everything that happened with Mai and Nodoka. By rejecting her life as Nene, no one can remember her. Meanwhile, adopting Touko’s identity (existing only through online music), that is, she cannot interact with the world unless she makes a music video or song.
This put Nene in trouble most of the time. Although Touko’s identity remained sane, it was forgotten by everyone, especially her boyfriend, who finally entered her college after two years of trying it – hurting her deeply. When Sakuta fails to get him to know her, she completely discards her last bit in pain, and that is Nene – becoming Touko by letting go of all the memories associated with Nene.
Of course, the trick is that she is not Touko. In order to keep herself from the bubble created by puberty syndrome, she must keep it in close alignment with the real touko. So she had to have an exact copy of everything Touko showed in the music video and put Nene in a small apartment filled with rare Christmas props.
The fear of seizing Sakuta at the end of this episode stems from the fact that despite Nene’s collection and total abandonment of her old life, the world still doesn’t believe she is the real touko. Instead, it was Mai, who took the lead despite publicly declaring that she wasn’t touko and logically, didn’t have time to be a secret pop singer. So from the perspective of anyone who wants to be Touko, the existence of Mai is a barrier that must be overcome.
But, it is frightening to be true that Nene is not the only Touko Wannabe out there. Several other similar voice girls also abandoned their identities and became Touko, who were equally isolated and invisible. And, unlike Nene, they have no personal connection with Mai. (At this point, Sakuta is Nene’s only friend – killing his girlfriend will completely isolate Nene, another person alone). However, any other Toukos may be willing and able to kill Mai and with the ability of puberty syndrome to ensure they are not responsible for the murder. It’s a frightening idea – even worse, while Sakuta can see Nene, who can say he can see another toukos?
