I’ll only get in touch again, but I really don’t like the show just avoiding everything that happened to Mai in the last arc. Not only does this episode start with Renako and Mai sharing some intimacy together, but to be honest, their relationship seems to have evolved since I last met them. Renako’s resistance to kissing Mai is far from enough, and the fact that it is becoming more and more open will only rub me in the wrong way. I like the fact that this arc doesn’t seem to have anything to do with MAI, which means the show probably won’t focus on her for some time. But, despite not really making money, their relationship has made any progress and that is not the best start for me.
As for the rest of the episode, I think that’s good. Ajisai will now be the main focus of the next few episodes, and while the telegram written is incredible, I do like the dynamics they are building. In the final arc, Renako has just been dragged in, as Satsuki and Mai are more dominant characters. Now you can say that Renako is a more dominant personality, which means now I can see her introverted nature and tendency to overthink more central. This is not to say the show forgets them, but they are definitely underestimated. Now that the show creates a more firm parallel between Renako and Ajisai, it needs to determine how these characters get along.
While I do think Ajisai doesn’t realize how overwhelmed she was inadvertently Ajisai, it can be said that’s the point. Renako has always seen himself as an introvert who can’t say the right things at the right time. Although this made her use of people, it also made her unaware of her actual existence. I like to see small scenes of Renako by showing other girls, and the subtle way to this show is actually subtle. In many ways, Renako is a popular girl who has always looked up to or never thought she might be, but she is so wrapped in her own head that she can’t see that. This is why she always thinks her behavior and words are more innocent than she actually is. I don’t think she’s going to imagine someone who can just fall in love with or look up to her in a million years.
Therefore, now there is Ajisai worshiping Renako more than Renako imagined. Not only is Ajisai obsessed with her, but she seems to look up to Renako, a person who is always in control and lives her best life. As far as I know, Ajisai is probably more reserved than Renako. She is full of friendly and inclusiveness, but deep down she may wish she could become more selfish and childish. It’s totally reasonable that her time breaking the character, but she didn’t see it like that. Escape from home certainly felt like the initial hard transfer, but she just wanted to make herself selfish and get rid of a rest of the reliable, mature big sister she had always had to be.
I’d love to know where this arc went. Unlike those who used to be, this has the potential to be another good arc of potential love interests, and also a good arc of Renako himself. When Renako faces someone who respects her without saying anything, she always wants to be seen as being seen as? How will Renako react when she finally realizes that she is unintentionally romantically looking up to? Will Ajisai come out of her shell more and start to become more selfish and needy? All this is related to Renako’s relationship with other girls? I’m really interested because it has the potential to be the most organic and satisfying arc to date.
