Episode 9 – Call of the Night Season 2

This episode starts with Anko against Nazuna. Now that we know their history together, neither of them can ignore too much unresolved tension, as they both want to do. Seriously, they have been like Exes, they find each other in coffee shops and don’t know how to start a conversation. Nazuna, for example, guessed Anko’s identity, but she neither confirmed nor denied it. As far as Anko is concerned, she must have known that it was her old flame with the KO, but she also decided to follow Nazuna’s accomplices first. If not all the bleeding incidents, the situation would be very embarrassing.

The confrontation on Halloween night has become Call of nightThe most complex market segment. Structurally speaking, it has many moving parts and a large number of characters to track, at least compared to the previous story arc. Anko is flying around the city as part of her grand plan. Nazuna ran out somewhere. KO and Akira explore the streets. Other vampires hang out before they decide to actively pursue their killer. Kotoyama As the comics develop, some of his consequences admit that he stepped out of his comfort zone, deviated from his life from his life, and entered the field of action. I think exploring works here, and the Halloween setting still offers opportunities for relaxing time, just like Ko wearing stereotypical vampire costumes.

There is a big change in the adaptation compared to the comics that can simplify this arc, which is a clever change. I previously pointed out that the appearance of Rila, a student in Nico’s class, came back here when the girl Anko was rescued from that serial adulterer. In the comics, Rila then meets with the KO to attend their Halloween “Date,” which is the climax of the storyline and completely abandons the adaptation. Although KO doesn’t take her seriously or behind Nazuna (actually, Nazuna encourages it) behind it, its purpose is to distinguish KO from Nazuna’s relationship from the more typical ones. While KO may not have fallen in love with Nazuna yet, he has a valuable connection with her. Unfortunately, Rila herself is a flat character, and her scenes and personality quirky with Anko’s more severe curves don’t condense well. I doubt Kotoyama Hesitant to go all out at first, so the Rila is a way to inject more loyalty into this part. But, in retrospect, the adaptation correctly speculates, it is best to focus on actions and emotions. Plus, this gives Akira more screen time and I miss her very much.

I think Anko itself is also very interesting. She plays a funny little guy, and obviously has a ball that has made her Halloween plan. She likes to put her fear of God on that guard’s lech, pretending to shoot him before lighting a cigarette. She also likes to sneak into targets with sutterfuge – after all, she has ten years of detective work to cover up her disguise. She wasn’t lazy either in the warhead, skillfully dismissing Akan’s canned weapons and martial arts for the second time. Anko even sneaks through a straight comedy film of running, tangles, smokes and repeats the process. Depend on Creepy nutsproving that she spent her life while in fatal danger.

However, Anko is not good. Her vendetta against vampires was due to the tragedy she has brought for the past decade that has fueled her, and you won’t do it without causing serious psychological damage. For example, she puts her revolver on her temple while she is in trouble in the darkness of her apartment. While we can’t tell whether this is a fake revolver she used as a lighter or a real revolver she photographed with a vampire, the visual language is clear. From this, we can infer where her headspace is and gently say that this is not good. It further indicates that she has self-promotion to the brain when she uses poetic and apocalyptic language (such as “End Night”). To continue to praise Sawashiro, she plays Anko’s emotional vortex, grabbing her playful side and fear of fear.

The biggest open question is what Anko’s last game is. Although KO correctly predicted her Halloween attack, he was unable to figure out what she hoped to accomplish, which prevented him from taking action. Her attacks are meaningless, and she should not have the means to weaken Nazuna without human past. Anko, on the other hand, surprised them before, so everyone doubted the sleeves on her sleeve. This unknown factor brings tensions to the next episode, and overall, it’s a good start.
