Episode 8 – The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4

I didn’t expect Shield Hero In this extended boss battle, propose the “this is not even my final form” strategy. I know it’s not an alternative form and our actors just fall down to clones before fighting the real ones, but that’s my head. It’s definitely the most animated episode of the season so far, so even if everything is basic, it’s at least easy to see. From a design standpoint, this giant Hydra is a bit inspired and once we get to the point of view, I’ve been expecting it to become something bigger. But it turns out that its true form is only larger and purple.
Despite Monsters being completely CG, there is some good teamwork and coordination on our main cast. Seeing them all try to lower their heads at the same time so they can put the creature down and try to find a beautiful place in the core. Technically, at some point everyone was given something except Atla. I don’t like that after she just got the power, she was still belittling her brother, and her behavior was indeed a little bit not supposed to be where she shouldn’t be. Maybe once she gets her own beast transformation, she goes through the arc, obviously, Naofumi can now assign it to others, so maybe it’s just a matter of time.
Speaking of Naofumi, I wonder what the plan is. I seem worried about this fact, and it seems that Naofumi has done a complete thing for the plan. Remember that his entire reason in this country was to make a justification for how Raftalia had nothing to do with the Emperor. They want the beast assassin to stop killing her randomly, although this has only really become a problem lately. Once our actors came here, Naofumi talked to the revolutionaries as if they were all on the same page, overturning the current emperor to hold Raphtalia accountable. Because Naofumi never clearly conveyed anything to the actors or audiences, I think the writing suddenly changed my mind and I should carry it with me. You might think this is a bold assumption, but the show has been done countless times, even once or twice in this season, so it can be said that anything will happen. Naofumi even told Raphtalia’s head in the boss’s battle soon that it was not in front of the revolutionaries, which made me think it was part of the ultimate goal.
Thankfully, the end of this episode clearly shows that once the work is done, Raftalia does not need to take on the position of the emperor. Naofumi is very just using the revolutionaries to further promote her own plans, but what should happen if Raphtalia decides not to pick up the cloak? After a revolution is staged, you will essentially leave a major form of government abroad, which is irresponsible. Of course, the person in charge is obviously terrible, the show is not interested in political nuances, but is that still screwed up? Does Naofumi know that once the show reaches this point, his plans will solve this problem for him, or does he not tell us that there are more plans? Indeed, it does seem as if Naofumi didn’t mind the idea that Raphtalia was being held accountable, but wanted to leave the decision to her, even though it was obvious for a while ago that was something she didn’t want. But now, looking at her face at the end, maybe she will take the position, or at least considering to help her people.
If the show wants to be Raphtalia to choose her own free life or to tie herself to a political standpoint, she doesn’t want to want it for the sake of the freedom of others, it might actually be fun. Even if the way the performance is completely artificial, there is a reliable foundation. However, there are two problems with this. First of all, I don’t have any confidence in the ability to perform. I even know almost nothing about the person in charge. Perhaps the previous arc about boating in another country should have predicted the political conspiracy that took place in such arcs, but considering how that end of that one came about, it did not give much confidence.
The second problem is that I have no reason to believe that Raphtalia will be a good leader. Outside of the second episode of season 2, she fights for her independence and becomes a hero, and she has hardly done or said anything since. If there is an interesting irony about this arc, it is that the constant focus on Raphtalia does emphasize that her presence has become very little since season 2. I want to sit here and remember how many lines she might have had in the last two seasons, and although still one of the kids, it really doesn’t have a lot. Franchise. She has always been passive, quiet jealousy outside of her, even if she does have her own moments, they revolve around her ability to stand with Naofumi. She has little leadership or diplomatic skills, so even if they have to remove the bad emperor who made life difficult for Orcs, I have no reason to think that Raftalia would be a better leader from a political standpoint. Hell, Sadeena would be a better emperor because she had at least a vague idea of the land’s functioning.
So while there aren’t many episodes outside of this battle, it does remind me of the exact progress of the show. The show sets the foundation for other battle encounters, as Hydra is not a unique scene and plans are moving forward. I hope the show won’t lock in and focus strictly on combat because I think it needs to solve all these issues I’ve asked.
