There is a lot of love Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. Some of its humor may be a taste gained, but there is a lot of heart and passion behind the series. One of the things that drew me to the show was the family information it found. When the worlds of humans and dragons merge together, we find that different types of creatures may not be that different, and we can all learn to live together in the right environment. Some of the best plots in the series focus on the specific character situation. still, Kyoto Animation A full movie centered on the beloved character Kanna is being produced. When I say beloved, I mean based on what I see from the sound behind the show, and the many fans I see on the panel Anime New York 2025.
The panel has special features YūkiKuwahara and MarikaJapanese dubbing actresses of Tohru and Kanna respectively. They’re fully on the stage role play In their role, it was excellent in the end credits of the first season. The two went to various countries to promote the film before their limited dramatic premiere on October 20. After a pleasant performance, the audience had to check out the first six minutes of the movie itself in an exclusive sneak peek.
The film begins with dozens of dragons flying through beautiful sky. But there was a dragon crossing the golden field on the ground beneath them. We can’t see the dragon, but we see Kanna clutching the back of the creature as we find that the dragon running on the ground is actually her father. We quickly cut into Kanna when she woke up in Kobayashi’s apartment room, she reminded the audience that despite her appearance, Kanna was a powerful dragon.
I will admit that at first, there doesn’t look much different from what you see on TV. The preview even showed off the standard anime opening, as if it was the first episode of season 3. However, some other details suggest that the presentation may be elevated to a different level. There are lots of extra shadows to emphasize the light pouring into the room, which makes it seem typical for dialogue to have extra nuances to them. There isn’t much extrapolation in the first six minutes after the initial opening scene, as the rest of the preview is very typical, while Tohru and Kobayashi usually go back and forth, while the final scene is Kanna’s quick cut Kanna demands a smartphone.
The glimpse at that moment probably didn’t give us the whole picture, but the two dubbing questions and some live dubbing scenes answered more context. Three scenes are shown through screenshots on the projector when the voice actor relists the lines that will appear in the movie. The first is Tohru, reflecting on the fact that Kobayashi is struggling for a large-scale confrontation. However, the other two scenarios are Marika It’s the real heart of really knowing this upcoming movie. The first one is Kanna remembers the scene where her father embraced her time. She compares experience with how humans embrace in ways that keep warm. In many ways, this reinforces the message throughout the series.
But the second scene called is definitely backbone. Kanna is not a character who shows a lot of external emotions. In fact, part of the joke around her is how silent she is compared to the fanaticism of others. However, Naganawa makes it very clear that we will see a different side from Kanna in this film, where she displays emotions at a level she has never done before. I think the scene they chose gave us a glimpse into what she meant. The relevant scene shows Kaina yelling and crying about how lonely she is. Nagakawa locks in, truly portraying Kanna’s true hurt and sad character. Even if I don’t know the full background of the scene, I feel it.
Kuwahara commented on how the movie will take so much fun action that she actually has to take a break after recording it. But the real purpose of the film is to show the emotions Kanna has experienced. It feels like the film will be a slow accumulation of emotional breakthroughs for the characters, and it seems that the relationship between her and her father will be at the center of it. The group ends with Kuwahara and Naganawa, bringing up another cute show with the final theme in the anime series. I’ve been curious about this movie, but given everything here, I’m definitely more excited right now.
