Now that everyone else has at least a moment to shine, it’s natural that we will finally be treated this week with a nanoenzyme-centric plot. In a series that loves carpets, turkey!Finally, things are always darker than you expected for the otherwise adorable nanoenzymes.
However, before we learn more about nanoenzymes, we first met the sister we heard. After traveling performers, the charm our team learned this week and left behind, which really comes from the future, is proven by all possible items (ball pens). Side note: I know I’ve called our main girl the Sentai lineup for off-duty, but it wasn’t until Natsume, which appeared this week, that purple somehow appeared, that I realized that this applies to our Sengoku characters as well. I wonder if this will be related to the story or is it just an interesting aesthetic? Guess all we can do is wait and see.
Anyway, the main thing we took from this week’s episode is that Nanase’s father left her and her mother to pursue her dreams, and Nanase has a complicated feeling about it – being totally angry with her father, not happiness, but both. And, it was difficult for her to deal with and reconcile these feelings, especially her joy for him – because it was trapped in her and her mother’s side.
If this episode proves anything, it is that this is an anime and you should never be based on the face value. In particular, I say so about nanoenzymes, and until now she has been second to Mai, because how affectionately she accepts others’ future studies is a very serious situation. Of course, it is worth worrying about the unexpected consequences of their actions in the future. But there is another factor worth considering: their safety and life. While the life of nanoenzymes is not as dangerous as Nozomi and Sayuri, we still know that behind her stupid appearance is a magnificent growth.
I think a big part of what makes Nanase’s backstory so hard is that it doesn’t overdo it like the dead anime parents – it feels very rooted. While I don’t want to say that never mentioned, it’s not that parents are going out of the family (whether it involves divorce) that isn’t what you see is portrayed very much in the anime unless it follows something along something: So having a character like Nanase, who is currently working on this issue.
Overall, it’s a correct episode. Not as many as others, and certainly more dramatic than what we have lately, but is still a good emotional core that reminds us that even people as stupid as nanoenzymes are still human. But at this point, Mai is overdue for an episode, focusing on her and conducting a reality check. Given that the ability of this anime we’ve seen is more important than anything else, this episode makes me feel hopeful and excited because next week we can finally take part in a Mai-centric plot, and she’s finally facing the reality of her situation. Can she still be cheerful in the face of danger or finally break it? These are the questions in this series that make me think of now.
